    Rice wasn’t just on Chevron’s board when the company was paying kickbacks to Saddam Hussein, she was in charge of the company’s policy committee, which existed to look for potential political problems.

    Ms. Rice has always struck me as being the most dishonest and most dangerous player in this administration.

    When all the facts are known, history is not going to judge her very favorably, IMO.

    If it weren’t for Clinton, Rice would’ve never had to stoop to these shenanigans. Rice is the victim, here, moonbats. But you’re so blinded by BDS, you can’t bring yourselves to blame Clinton for anything, can you?

    Rice is just a dirty(ier?) version of Powell. She’s put up as a “model minority” that the Republicans can use as a shield against allegations of racism, and she’s rolled out as a front-woman for whatever squirly, non-functioning policy the Administration cooks up next. But while she may play White Rice for her Republican Constituency and Dirty Rice for her administrative overlords, in the end she’s going to be Steamed Rice when more dead weight needs to be tossed over the garbage trow this admin calls a Ship of State. Expect her to release a George Tenet-style tell-all book a few years after she leaves office, where she blames those evil neo-cons (of whom she was never a members) who perverted the Republican party.

    Rice; despite her credentials, is nothing more than a dim witted foot soldier pretending to be a Consigliere.

    She’s not even a Capo.

    She doesn’t appear to know the ‘whys’ or ‘hows’ of the scam, just the specifics of her bit role as getaway driver.

    Even if she squeals to the cops, I highly doubt she knows enough (unlike Powell) to bring down the big guys.

    I think the problem is considering her a knowledgeable expert. She’s not, she’s just playing the Washington insider game, and making the big bux.

    So, let me get this straight.

    The current U.S. Secretary of State is probably guilty of signing off on the illegal violation of U.N. sanctions against Iraq – to the tune of millions of dollars in bribes to Saddam Hussain’s government – by a major American oil-giant, only months before taking up the post of National Security Advisor in an Administration that would go on to invade Iraq after claiming, amongst other things, that Saddam Hussain was using money he’d got through illegal violations of U.N. sanctions (by, you know, the French and whatnot) to build nuclear weapons.

    I do not think that “I don’t recall that meeting, but I do recall that I didn’t do anything wrong” will quite cut it this time.

    Additionally, Kofi Annan was worse. He designed the oil-for-food scandal, and he personally delivered the money to Saddam every month, and the two of them would dine on stewed baby heads and toast to hating America.

    Kofi Annan is not our current Secretary of State, nor is he an American citizen whose country was trying to create regime change in Iraq with sanctions and overhead bombings.
    But on the bright side, this relevation might qualify Rice for Bush’s “Medal of Freedom” F-up club.

    New York prosecutors does selective prosecution.
    Chevron was not indicted in April 2005 like prosecutor did with other small American companies.
    Why didn’t anybody from Chevron under Oil for Food ever get criminal charges? Why were some companies/persons indicted while Chevron, Exxon or anybody in charge of those companies were not?
    WHY?
