Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

When you’re a Republican, they let you do it.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

Republicans don’t lie to be believed, they lie to be repeated.

Those who are easily outraged are easily manipulated.

Never give a known liar the benefit of the doubt.

Today’s gop: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

Trump should be leading, not lying.

Everybody saw this coming.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.”

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

The fundamental promise of conservatism all over the world is a return to an idealized past that never existed.

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

People identifying as christian while ignoring christ and his teachings is a strange thing indeed.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

People are complicated. Love is not.

The press swings at every pitch, we don’t have to.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

Fucking consultants! (of the political variety)

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

No posting today- Steelers were on. I will be back in full force tomorrow, once I recover from the stress.

I would like to extend a big thanks to the folks at Protein Wisdom. Not only are they folks I love to read, but they have been kind and generous enough to buy my blogspot banner. I really appreciate it, and for those of you have ventured into my archives or have read this site for a few weeks, you know how much I appreciate their work. Please, if you get nothing else out of this website, go to their site and check out their take on issues.

Kick em while they are down, we always say. James Glassman writes Diversify, Diversify, Diversify- Enron employees aren’t blameless for the bath they took.

By the way, I am back from Pittsburgh. I have a number of stories to tell, none of them are appropriate for this public forum. The folks at the Westing William Penn were very suspicious of us from the get go, and we confirmed their suspicions (hotled must just hate it when 4-5 rogueish looking 30 somethings show up to register on a Friday night carry a wad of cash, a toothbrush, and a liter of vodka). Woke up this morning and went to Wholey’s for some seafood (got some scrod, some crab, and some sea scallops), then to Penns. Macaroni Company where I got a pound of Roquefort blue, a pound of Stilton, 2 pounds of Gorgonzola (man is that just oozing goodness- with those BIG BLUE VEINS), some Asiago, some super sharp, some sweet sopresetta, fresh tortellini, grated romano for my pasta, and a hude monstrous jar of marinated artichoke hearts.

Mark Steyn takes on Marc Herold’s statistics, something I discussed the other day. Steyn does a better job of debunking the myth thas I did, though. Got the heads up from Damian Penny’s snazzy site.

I had to post something

I had to post something before I left. I just saw the footage from Israel with the Palestinian gunmen. The PLO needs to be stomped on and destroyed like vermin. Disgusting sewer trout.

Probably not goijng to be anymore posting until tomorrow night. I am off to Pittsburgh to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and hopefully to eat a couple of gut-bomb Primanti Brothers sandwiches. Then tomorrow, some shopping on the strip (I need pasta, cheeses, seafood, and some other good stuff), and then a relaxing day attached to the idiot box watching football. Until then..
