Robert Novak asked Robert Wexler (you remember him- he was one of the driving forces behind creating the disenfranchised illusion in 2000) the following (and I paraphrase):
“Essentially, anything bad that happens in Iraq is Bush’s fault, anything good that happens the troops did?”
Wexler agreed. From his comments section, Matthew Yglesias states:
In short, no, I never offer praise for George W. Bush. There are plenty of other people out there, both amateurs and well-paid professionals, offering non-stop streams of praise for the president of the United States and I’ll leave that to them. When I think of something bad to say about him, then I’ll speak up, otherwise I remain silent.
Straight shooters.

There was a Peter Wexler who died in 2002, and a Paul Wexler, and a Congressman Robert Wexler who’s been interviewed by Novak…could you help us out with which Wexler you’re talking about?

This is the same Yglesias that refused to say anything nice about the Republicans because he was afraid it was “a trick to let his guard down”.
Sigh.
John Cole
I meant Robert.

I never read anything by Matthew Yglesias as I know there will always be lots of fools at such moronic sites as Eschaton and Counterspin that will praise his young intellect to the heavens.

Robert “Whiny” Wexler, who was fond of screeching “They’re impeaching our president! They’re impeaching our president!” during the 1998 impeachment hearings with an expression on his face that implied that he had just soiled his undergarments. Getting his butt kicked there was a good foundation for getting his butt kicked in the battle over the 2000 presidential election–his whining reached a pitch and volume that would have made Wallace Shawn wince. Fortunately for the hearing of the nation, he’s been rather obscure ever since.

Things must be pretty bad in the 19th District that they have no better choice than to elect a sniveling, immature middle age male to represent them in the U.S. Congress. He appears to be a pathetic pup.
