Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

This has so much WTF written all over it that it is hard to comprehend.

Republicans: The threats are dire, but my tickets are non-refundable!

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

She burned that motherfucker down, and I am so here for it. Thank you, Caroline Kennedy.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

“Just close your eyes and kiss the girl and go where the tilt-a-whirl takes you.” ~OzarkHillbilly

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

rich, arrogant assholes who equate luck with genius

Republicans got rid of McCarthy. Democrats chose not to save him.

Republicans don’t want a speaker to lead them; they want a hostage.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

Relentless negativity is not a sign that you are more realistic.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Celebrate the fucking wins.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

The willow is too close to the house.

Not all heroes wear capes.

How any woman could possibly vote for this smug smarmy piece of misogynistic crap is beyond understanding.

Karl Rover, Master of the Universe

One thing the democrats are really good at is creating bogeyman. they always manage to walk in lock step when creating the latest bogeyman, and now that Lee Atwater is dead, Newt Gingrich is retired, and Tom Delay and Rick Santorum have not beeen in session for a couple of weeks, it appears that it is Karl Rove’s turn to be the evil behind the scenes genius:

I just saw a preview of a study that finds the Swift Boat ads quite effective among independents in raising doubts about John Kerry’s war record. And that suggests that Karl Rove will want to send more money toward the group running the ad.

I guess Karl Rove was ehind the Kerry campaign running a platform based solely on Kerry’s Vietnam record.

And I guess it was Karl Rove who made all the embellishments about Cambodia.

And of course it was Karl Rove who put this commercial together.

Man, is he good, or what?

He’s brilliant! Must be a member of the illuminati! (Or is that a right-wing paranoia? I can’t keep them straight…)

Oh, man you have no idea. Karl Rove actually arranged for all the television camera crews that have been dogging John Kerry for the past three years and which will be responsible for the nefarious leaking of his public statements during that time. Hey dude – how would you like it if your every conversation was held up to public scrutiny!?? If the Republicans had to play by the rules, you can bet they’d go down in flames. Instead, they have the GOP controlled media doing their dirty work.

“John Kerry for the past three years and which will be responsible for the nefarious leaking of his public statements during that time.”

How does one leak a PUBLIC statement????

“Hey dude – how would you like it if your every conversation was held up to public scrutiny!??”

That’s called “being a prominent politician”. It comes with the turf. If Kerry can’t stand the heat, he can go back to the kitchen.

Shouldn’t leave this “talkingpoint” unchallenged: “…And that suggests that Karl Rove will want to send more money toward the group running the ad.”

Been all over the SBVT site. Does Marshall have information that Karl Rove sent one red cent to the SBVT?

Marshall never did answer whether he gets much of his dirt from Blumenthal or not…

Did Rove ever find out who bugged his office? I guess he’s still pounding the streets in a constant search, with OJ.

    ape,
They’re working together with Al Gore, until their last breath, to rid the world of the dangers of big tobacco. You didn’t forget his ’96 convention speech which capitalized on his sister’s death, did you?

Karl Rove is the George Patton of political operatives. All you have to do is mention his name and the enemy goes apeshit, even if the guy actually has nothing to do with the current situation.

Reminds me of the Hyena’s in Lion King at the mention of the kings name. Say it again, say it again…
