Beautiful weather out here in California. It was about 70 out, sunny, with not much wind here in Sacramento. I can’t imagine waking up to a snow storm.

Wow. Thats exactly how it looks 2500 miles east of my house. Coincidence? I wonder what Cindy Sheehan would say about that?

Wow. That’s some impressive snowstorm. I hope you’ve got lots of food and drink and catfood. And a flashlight. And a cell phone. And a fireplace, that you and Tunch and settle in front of together.
And here I am in Phoenix in shorts and a t-shirt with the AC on high because it is 87 degrees here.

Oh, I am Jealous! I am retiring in Colorado or Wyoming. Sick of my summer attire. I want to look out at snow for most of the year, and drink hot chocolate every night. I want my cats to be puffy with their winter coats the majority of the year.
JEALOUS!!! :(

I like snow too but there’s something cool about not even owning a jacket. I spent 25 years in the northeast so I’ve earned the good weather.

I went to grad school in the Boston area. Snow was great at first. But then they had the snowiest winter in five years. In Feb ’03 we had over three feet on the ground at one point.
Hmm funny that is a so-called “conservative” (I fail to see how anyone who actually knows the defition of a conservative still supports this admin but I digress) who is the only one to mention global warming.
Just another example of how Bush-supporters have to apply bullshit beliefs to their opposition in order to live in their delusional little world where everyone on the other side is “out of touch”.
Have fun in fantasy land, goonie. I hope you enjoy your time there.

JonBuck – yeah, one can grow very tired of snow very quickly. It’s not always the fluffy, lovely, white fantasy-land that a lot of people think it is. The first snowfall is always kind of cool, especially if it’s of the fluffy, slowly-falling variety. And I do love having a white Christmas, but a lot of the year, snow means having perpetual salt stains on your nice pants and boots; shelling out for a second set of tires; having to get up in the dark to shovel your driveway and brush off your car so you can get to work on time; getting your front bumper clipped because you had to inch too far out of the grocery store’s driveway, cause of the 5-foot tall snowbanks; messy, slippery slush all over the sidewalks.
Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy living in a climate where there’s snow. It can look incredibly beautiful, and I enjoy snowshoeing, and a new snowfall gives such a lovely hush to the air. But don’t fool yourself into thinking it doesn’t have its drawbacks.
