Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Infrastructure week. at last.

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

I was promised a recession.

Whoever he was, that guy was nuts.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

You cannot shame the shameless.

After roe, women are no longer free.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

🎶 Those boots were made for mockin’ 🎵

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the GOP

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. let’s win this.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

The GOP couldn’t organize an orgy in a whorehouse with a fist full of 50s.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Let us savor the impending downfall of lawless scoundrels who richly deserve the trouble barreling their way.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Go vote for which GOP nominee you would like to see in 2008.

Results are here, and when enough of you vote, I will put up the link to results from this website.

The results for Balloon Juice voters can be found here, and once again, we are living up to our subversive pinko Communist label.

Man, why isn’t Hagel more popular?

I can’t believe Rice is so popular given the breathtaking incompetence she has displayed prior to 9/11 and as one of the leading liars of the Iraq war.

Oh well. I doubt she’ll run. A few reruns of her testimony in front of the 9/11 committee ought to fix that. Something about a historical document? Whoops.

Give it time. At this point in 1990, nobody was pay any attention to Bill Clinton. Timing is everything in this racket.

You have to allow that it’s likely that the GOP is going to split in the next couple years. The pseudo-neo-cons have worn out their welcome, and there are responsible adults in the party who are going to try to take it back from them. The damage done by the Bushites has not yet stopped, nor have you seen the breadth and depth of what has already been done. These guys are a disaster for the GOP way beyond what Nixon was, and what Carter was to the Democrats.

Lots of fun the next few years.

    If the country survives.

    100% ack, ppGaz.
Of course, I voted for Frist, cause he has the smallest chance to win. However, I described myself accordingly as ‘male, catholic, simpsons liberal'(is South Park really so conservative? Hmm), just to live up to this site’s pinko communist appeal. :D

South Park is hardly conservative. They rib both sides. The guy who wrote that book is a moron who obviously doesn’t watch the show.

They mostly have a libertarian slant. Which isn’t surprising considering that Trey Parker considers himself a libertarian.

But Parker rejects the “South Park Conservative” label — as well as the notion that he can only choose between liberal and conservative. In an interview with In Focus magazine (October 4, 2004), he said, “What we’re sick of — and it’s getting even worse — is: You either like Michael Moore or you wanna f**kin’ go overseas and shoot Iraqis. We find just as many things to rip on the left as we do on the right. People on the far-left and the far-right are the same exact person to us.”

    Condi 2008!

Quite possibly, she is the most accomplished woman in the world! She skates, she is a concert level pianist, she is a leading scholar, she is her generation’s most accomplished diplomat. You think Hitlery will beat her? Bwahahahaha!

Hagel?? No chance. McCain?? Not much of one either, if party affiliation is enforced in the primaries.

Of course, I first saw the poll at Reynolds’ joint, so that’s probably where it wound up if they were doing it by referrer.

And no, it wasn’t for either one of them.

The results for Balloon Juice say a lot about the readers of this site, particularly the results for ANWR. I am curious as to when Balloon Juice got all of its left-of-center readers, I know I really started reading this site regularly during the whole Schiavo affair.

I’m a slight liberal who voted for McCain because even though I would never vote for any of the Republican canidates in a general election I still felt that I should vote for the canidate who the least unappealing to me.

Quite possibly, she is the most accomplished woman in the world! She skates, she is a concert level pianist, she is a leading scholar, she is her generation’s most accomplished diplomat.

And she obediently does what she’s told. Not a good choice for a president – who will tell her what to do then? Or will she follow the Bushie mode and do what her VP tells her to do?

And she obediently does what she’s told.

Why? Because she’s a woman? Because she’s black? You liberals crack me up. You’re all about political correctness unless the person happens to be a Republicans. If Condi were a Dumbokrat and Republicans talked about her the way you talk about Condi, you’d be talking about how they were racist and sexist, the same way you attacked those who rightly questioned Harriet Miers’ qualifications.

    No, because she’s Condoleeza Rice.

Why? Because she’s a woman? Because she’s black?

No. Because if she’s as smart as you want us all to believe, then why didn’t she stand up to Bush on either 9/11 or Iraq? In both cases, she went along with the status quo.

So which is she? Obedient or stupid?

    Amen, brother! You tell ’em.

The only difference is the far-left isn’t trying to rape my pocketbook and freedoms like the far-right’s been doing.

I don’t understand the appeal of Guiliani, frankly. While he certainly has more courage than GW Bush, he doesn’t show much more foresight.

Yes. That’s right. The reason why I don’t like Condoleeza Rice is because I’m a sexist, racist pig.

    You liberals crack me up.

What are you talkinga bout? You’re the one acting like a liberal.

Geez, I’m a clown. I went over there thinking “If I were going to vote in the Washington State Republican primary as a Republican, who would I vote for?” I “pulled the lever” for Gingrich: subtle, smart, and an effective organizer within the party. I know who I’d vote for as a Democratic sabotage voter: whoever was closest to Dobson when the primary rolled around.

yea they sure trash the hell out of McCain, Shays, Gulianni.

    /end sarcasm.

The media trashes Republicans because the majority of them right now are corrupt pieces of shit.
