Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

White supremacy is terrorism.

Never give a known liar the benefit of the doubt.

One lie, alone, tears the fabric of reality.

Trump should be leading, not lying.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Republicans do not trust women.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

🎶 Those boots were made for mockin’ 🎵

America is going up in flames. The NYTimes fawns over MAGA celebrities. No longer a real newspaper.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

Today in our ongoing national embarrassment…

The “burn-it-down” people are good with that until they become part of the kindling.

The media handbook says “controversial” is the most negative description that can be used for a Republican.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Fundamental belief of white supremacy: white people are presumed innocent, minorities are presumed guilty.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

What happens if somebody reports a dead link and it turns out later it’s not dead, or that a link got run over and it didn’t; then what?

    Andrew Sullivan is now andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/

Can you create a new category for sites like Red State, Hewitt, Malkin, etc.

Call the category, oh I dunno, comedy? That seems to work.

    Ok, fixed those two.

I was thinking of these for categories:

Sane, Insane, Iffy, Depends on the Issue

    Yglesias has also moved.
    http://matthewyglesias.theatlantic.com/

The categories should be changed… Technically they should be divided up more like this:

    — Center to Left

    — Right to Wingnut

Uh, does pointing out that you have Glenn Greenwald in the “Center to Right” category count? You might also have to move Belgravia Dispatch and Sully as well.

Whiskey Bar is no more (sigh). And yeah, it’s definitely time for Glenn Greenwald to get shifted to the left.

Wonder if many of the right wing sites have closed down in disgust at Bush and the state of the GOP… but I value my sanity far too much to check them all.

Glenn Greenwald is in the center — it’s not his fault that the facts have a liberal bias.

The Politburo Diktat has given up politics for translating ancient Greek history; I’m guessing because he got tired of explaining to his posters that torture was wrong.

So I’d file him under Sane, unless you feel that Xenophon was undermined by liberal Hellenic ostrakons.

Do you want the ones that dont work, or the ones that work but completely suck?

How about these catogories for groupings:

    Correct
    Always Fucking Wrong
    Pathologically Insane

Not guessing where my site would be in the proposed categories, but Owned By Cats is pretty much dead. I haven’t been working on it at all for some time and don’t think I will be soon.
