Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

A lot of Dems talk about what the media tells them to talk about. Not helpful.

In my day, never was longer.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

Conservatism: there are some people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

It’s time for the GOP to dust off that post-2012 autopsy, completely ignore it, and light the party on fire again.

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

We’ll be taking my thoughts and prayers to the ballot box.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

Come on, media. you have one job. start doing it.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

How can republicans represent us when they don’t trust women?

He really is that stupid.

Meanwhile over at truth Social, the former president is busy confessing to crimes.

Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about freedom.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

Barbara O’Brien, aka Mahabarbara, is the first blogger that I ever knew and one of the sharper commentators out there. If you have any change lying around consider passing it on to help keep medical bills from driving her out of her house.

Tim, thoughtful of you to post on this.

I’m trying to send a donation but when I click the "Donate" button and log in to my Paypal acct. I uh, I don’t know how to complete the donation to Mahablog. Nothing shows up indicating Mahablog or Barbara.

Need some tutoring if you can, please.

Gotta love the "best healthcare system in the world" (TM). Your health or your home, choose one. If you want both, you need to grovel on the nets and hope enough random strangers kick in some spare change. (Yes, I put something in the bucket.)

I have never heard of the lady, but I put some money in the bucket and pray it all works out for her. This sort of situation happens to far too many people in the USA, and it shouldn’t have to happen at all.

Having survived a foreclosure, I have compassion for the prolonged fear and dread. Fortunately, I was healthy. Physically, anyway.
I was blown away by the kindness of strangers during that time. Ironically, they offered more tangible, practical support than those "closer" to me.
I like these sorts of posts.

@Laura W: Sometimes it’s hard to remember, as we sit here and watching and rebutting the frothing extremists, that overall Americans are very friendly and very giving.

She is one of the first blogs I read and her blog was responsible for the majority of my education of the political world. She motivated me to learn more and get involved in the Kerry campaign, my first of many. Please read her and help out, too, if you can!
