This is exactly the right answer:
Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. had a blunt response on Friday to the latest broadsides from former Vice President Dick Cheney: “Who cares?”
In the latest exchange between old and new administrations, Mr. Biden rebuffed his predecessor’s criticism about President Obama’s handling of Afghanistan as “absolutely wrong.” And Mr. Biden rejected the last review of the war conducted by the White House under former President George W. Bush and Mr. Cheney as “irrelevant.”
They had their eight years, and their record speaks for itself. Why the hell the beltway media still have their lips planted on Cheney’s behind is beyond me, but Biden got this exactly right. The answer to any question involving Dick Cheney’s policy opinions is “WHO CARES?” And that goes double for his idiot daughter.

The only time I want to see Dick Cheney’s sorry mug on my teevee is in handcuffs checking into the Crossbar Hotel.

What a terrible display of disrespect for the
fourth branch of the governmentoffice of the Vice president of the United States. To the fainting couches mes amis!Shinobi
Whenever I see Dick Cheney on TV I think “How are they getting a live video feed from the depths of hell? And how do they filter out all the screaming?”
And then I remember that he’s still on earth, which means THIS must be hell.
annie
“Who cares.” That should be the rallying cry of the administration — each time a wingnut attacks. The administration should add “We Care.” They should make ads that feature wingnuts with the response “Who Cares.” Then the administration should state their position and say “We Care.”
JenJen
Now, that’s what I’m talking about. I’m really beginning to enjoy the way this Administration bucks up. More like this, please.

He’s still around?? I thought he died when Luke took his mask off in one of the Star Wars flicks.

If we’re going to listen to Cheney, why don’t we just make Rumsfeld Secretary of Defense again? Even a year after he was sacked, his Vice-Satanic Majesty was still grumbling that Rumsfeld ought to have been kept on.
.
Though I do fantasize that someone will say to him: y’know that omnipotent presidency you worked so relentlessly to create? Well, someone else has the wheel of your creation now, so shut your trap and like it.

This is the Joe Biden slip o’ the tongue for which he was hired.

And that goes double for his idiot daughter.
But she’s so super-qualified!

Remember, Cheney was accepting an award at that dinner.

Its all just filler…
Who the f — cares about this?
Really.

But have fun anyway.
Read the moribund NY Times today and other laments about the death of the “Press”… Mainly about “who is going to be the expert and tell us what to think?”
That said, what are we replacing that jaundiced and “bought” perspective with? The importance of “I” and “ME”…what I think —
We have a torturous, painful and not particularly efficient process for screening out the fakers from the players on the net. It will cost us plenty, make no mistake.
Hopefully we can some day get to another, better phase where we are not worried that any Glenn Beck type with a shtick can reign supreme — that facts arent just a matter of opinion and that we can actually think of our nation as a community of shared interests, if not demographics…
Sheesh, in MY lifetime?

Yay, Joe B. Always have appreciated the man…..mouth and all.

I actually expected a different noun as the final word there, but nevermind.

You don’t know the half of it.
But seriously, this is well past overdue. The Village would do well to take notes on this.

annie@5 is absolutely spot on. Why should we care what the architects of evil and incompetence from the last administration have to say.
“Who cares”, indeed.

Good to know I am not alone, but also a bit like screaming into a paper bag…
We have our hands on the tiller here. And we are the smart ones.
Can we keep this whole damned enterprise in the middle of the channel and off the rocks or are we just going to live for the short term.
We blew up the MSM. We have an obligation, I would think, to at least work to do what the old MSM was supposed to (but mostly never did) do… we CARE about democracy and representative governance and competence and facts and all that — right? We care about the deep stuff that we know takes time and work and all that — right?
I see it here on BJ much more ( and hence this is where I gripe) — but shit, I get scare sometimes when I read across the spectrum from left to right and think — shit — this is to inform the people and help governance?

Has FOX News called Joe disrespectful to a former Vice President yet? Have they used during a time of war you should not be disrespectful to former vp’s yet? It’s coming!

@Elie:
I dunno, BooBoo.

Good for Biden. I’m glad to see this administration on the offense. It’s an incredibly refreshing change from the typical Democrat action, which generally involves cowering and sucking up to the Republicans lest they be seen as non-bipartisan.
I think the Republicans don’t have a clue how to deal with this new breed of Dems. Calling them out? Saying their opinion doesn’t matter? Ridiculing them? The Republicans don’t know what’s hit them. I’m enjoying that very much.

LOL! I’ve always liked Joe Biden.
I can see the headline now too: VP Biden says Cheney Can Go Fuck Himself With a Garden Weasel.
Works for me.

Or, “What’s the opposite?”

A hearty GFY is about the only thing that would have made me happier than Biden’s, “Who cares?”
This is one topic where Biden should be permitted to shoot his mouth off as much as he likes.

@valdivia: Yup and the liberal media will do it again.

the Bush administration spent their first year doing whatever the opposite of what the Clinton administration would have done and had advised them to do. That got us 9/11, and was profoundly and criminally stupid of the Republicans, but they couldn’t help themselves. The Obama administration has been a little too cautious to change course, but at least they are thinking things through. Sometimes when I hear what Cheney has to say I wonder why the hell he didn’t do that when he was in charge. It’s always easier to give advice, particularly if the people in charge are more competent than you and basically doing the right things.
LD50
I’ve always thought Biden would be a cool guy to have some beers with, but the difference between me and the wingnuts is that that’s never been one of my main reasons for voting the way I do.

I have the same feelings about the WH’s “war” with Fox News. Who cares. Fox can pound sand for all I care.

Hmm. FUCK. maybe that won’t be moderated.

I love Joey B. Who the fuck cares, indeed. Between him and Alan Grayson, maybe Dick Cheney will be a laughingstock rather than whatever the fuck he is right now.
McCain, too. Please.

Gaff? Sucks that the truth will be played like that.
Yutsano
@asiangrrlMN: If technically Joe B. is President of the Senate, can someone explain to me why he can’t be the 60th vote to break a filibuster?
Zuzu's Petals
The absolutely perfect response would have been:
“So?”
Mark S.
@Yutsano:
I don’t know for sure, but I think a) the Veep can only break ties, and b) the filibuster is internal Senate procedure.

I hope this doesn’t discourage Cthcheny. I loooove the fact that this smirking, sneering bastard is the Republican’s unofficial spokescreep. He’s better than Rush because he reminds everyone that if left to their own devices the GOP will give the levers of power to a complete twat.
That’s why I’m so looking forward to Novemeber Palinteenth.
