Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

Do we throw up our hands or do we roll up our sleeves? (hint, door #2)

She burned that motherfucker down, and I am so here for it. Thank you, Caroline Kennedy.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

Let there be snark.

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

Wake up. Grow up. Get in the fight.

They are not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

Weird. Rome has an American Pope and America has a Russian President.

You’re just a puppy masquerading as an old coot.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

Stop using mental illness to avoid talking about armed white supremacy.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

I swear, each month of 2025 will have its own history degree.

Republicans: “Abortion is murder but you can take a bus to get one.” Easy peasy.

Trump should be leading, not lying.

Oppose, oppose, oppose. do not congratulate. this is not business as usual.

Watch McCain in this clip, and tell me if you don’t just want to kick him in the junk:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

The juvenile old prick might as well have stuck his fingers in his ears and said “LALALALALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU” during the interview. The contempt was undeniable.

Such an asshole.

re torture … i thought this in an obit of a British WWII spy was interesting. note the means of torture and how the nyt had no issue calling it ‘torture’ … unless this was a story about american ‘harsh interrogation techniques’:

As she related in postwar debriefings, documented in Britain’s National Archives, the Gestapo tortured her — beating her, stripping her naked, then submerging her repeatedly in a bath of ice-cold water until she began to black out from lack of oxygen.

@Jay in Oregon: Your error is in not recognizing that war has already been declared.

The so-called paradox of freedom is the argument that freedom in the sense of absence of any constraining control must lead to very great restraint, since it makes the bully free to enslave the meek. The idea is, in a slightly different form, and with very different tendency, clearly expressed in Plato.
Less well known is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. — In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law, and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way as we should consider incitement to murder, or to kidnapping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal.

Of course I’ll wait until they draw first blood, but like all patriots, I’m ready to kill or die to save the US.
