Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

Trump should be leading, not lying.

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

Lick the third rail, it tastes like chocolate!

People identifying as christian while ignoring christ and his teachings is a strange thing indeed.

We’re watching the self-immolation of the leading world power on a level unprecedented in human history.

Anne Laurie is a fucking hero in so many ways. ~ Betty Cracker

I might just take the rest of the day off and do even more nothing than usual.

If ‘weird’ was the finish line, they ran through the tape and kept running.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Fundamental belief of white supremacy: white people are presumed innocent, minorities are presumed guilty.

One way or another, he’s a liar.

If you voted for Trump, you don’t get to speak about ethics, morals, or rule of law.

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

Today’s gop: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

There are times when telling just part of the truth is effectively a lie.

Fear and negativity are contagious, but so is courage!

I swear, each month of 2025 will have its own history degree.

You Weren’t Assassinated, You Just Made an Ass Out of Yourself on Tape

It takes some work being a dimmer bulb than the Wasilla Wingnut, but O’Donnell is up for the task:

Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell is asking voters to give her a second look. At a candidate forum sponsored by a group of local Republicans, O’Donnell blamed her campaign’s recent troubles on unfair coverage in the “liberal media.”

“I’ve put my name on the line. And I’ve taken a lot of hits … a lot of character assassination,” O’Donnell said.

All people are doing is showing videotapes of you talking.

But that’s not fair. Republicans shouldn’t be held accountable for things they said anything; that’s only supposed to happen to Democrats.

O’Donnell is still way smarter than Palin. At least she can appear on camera and answer questions unscripted without it being a word salad. O’Donnell has a dumb worldview like Palin, but at least she doesn’t need a palm-prompter.

Dredging though 3rd hand scuttlebutt about someone’s military career is character assassination.

Saying that someone is of foreign birth after *ample* proof of citizenship is available is character assassination.

I’ll even agree that speculating that someone’s daughter is in fact their granddaughter is possibly character assassination.

    @stuckinred:

It gets better. Here’s the full quote.

    newsreview.com/reno/content?oid=1854545

His religion’s a cult,” Pastor Reed said. “The Christian community—all the Christians, theologians and scholars, all recognize that, that Mormonism is a cult. I have books in my library on cults, and it lists Mormonism right there with all these bizarre cults. Well, there must be a reason. I mean, here a member of a cult is one of the most powerful people in the United States. Doesn’t that alarm you? And his allegiance is to Salt Lake City. Something is up with that. Something’s weird. But nobody touches that. … Harry Reid’s allegiance is to Salt Lake City. The Mormon church is rich, powerful, they do illegal things. They do secretive things. They’ve got all this money. They own American businesses. There’s weirdness going on there. Churches are not multi-millionaire organizations like the Mormon church. You know, there’s some weirdness with that, but nobody questions it, nobody asks one question to Harry Reid and says, ‘Tell us about your faith. What does a Mormon believe?’ Ask him about the holy garments that he wears that protect him from evil. Isn’t that kooky? Ask him about getting his body parts anointed by oil. Isn’t that kooky? Ask him about when he goes to the temple and he gets baptized for dead people. Isn’t that kooky? Ask him about the hit squad of the Mormon church and why they need people to kill Mormons that go against them. Isn’t that controlling? Ask him how they shun people, then they get their family members to disown them and divorce them if they dare leave the Mormon church. Isn’t that cultish? I mean, I could go on and on. The Mormon church is a cult, and Harry Reid is a powerful person in a cult, and nobody even questions it.”
    __
He suggested Reid has made “secret promises” to the LDS church.

Hey, do you know who else has made “secret promises” to the LDS church? No damnit, not Hitler, Glenn Beck. I wonder if we can get an LDS/Evangelical holy war going. That would be fun to watch.

I don’t think O’Donnell actually is dumber than Palin. Instead, I think Palin is dumber, but in ways that keep her more electable. Palin would never be intellectually curious enough about anything outside her world of conforming, acceptable, behavior to even flirt with Wicca.

Palin is dumber. She’s just more closed minded and meaner than O’Donnell. Which is saying a lot, about both Palin and the right wing electorate.

In a way, O’Donnell has dodged a bullet. All the stuff about witchcraft and jilling off has captured people’s imaginations, and as a result, no one talks about her inability to ever hold a job, the trail of debts she’s left behind her, her probably illegal use of campaign funds, the lies she’s had on her resume for years…. The serious stuff has hardly been hashed over at all.

Republican accountability — not. Just listen to what I say and not what I do.

O’Donnell. Don’t pay taxes and probably live illegally off of campaign funds. Oops. Never really attended the schools I claimed, but it is so low of the media to point this out. Never really held a job, but, seriously, who really cares.

Miller and Johnson and Bachmann. Hate government welfare except for me and my wife and my family. But, seriously, who doesn’t hate the government?

Angle. Have government sponsored health care (don’t really have to worry about pre-existing conditions or unemployment suckers), but that is me, not you. Seriously voters — part of being Christian is learning how to suffer.

anyway, every time we on the left insist that whatever flaw is being spotlighted isn’t the issue, its this that, the other or the other other thing, we create a white noise that makes any attack less resonate.

She’s already had a fair round with Maher, so has TV entertainment experience, is moderately attractive, and can be relied to say crazy shit that gets attention and is red meat for Wingnut. I see a Fox contract in the distance.
