There were only 11 seconds on the play clock when he reached the holder’s position, only 5 seconds left when he got in position, and the ball was snapped at the 1 second mark. It looked to me as if he never got set.

My take was that he was a bit rushed & the Patriots had 3 timeouts & I think the kicker thought Darth Hoodie would burn one to ice him & he didn’t.

@Ira-NY: Late to this, but yes, I had the same thought. Given that it just has to break the plane of the goal, doesn’t that mean he really only has to have possession for a millisecond? And I say this as a die-hard Pats fan.

Agree for the most part. The Niner defense was pretty strong, and Eli was lucky on a couple of poor throws. But the most annoying thing was watching McKenzie (RT) playing flag football out there. “What, you mean that Smith guy can keep going after Eli after I block him one time? Are you SURE he’s allowed to do that?”
If the O-Con or line coach don’t have a little chat with McKenzie, they’re not doing their job(s).
But, yeah, the Niners look like they’ll be around for awhile.

Presumably he’ll be rotting next to Bob Irsay…
