I love every single one of these for their just cheesy excellence.
We’ll go dancing in the dark, walking in the park:
And I just love this because I love Boz Scaggs and I in no way think it is cheesy, but hot damned I want backup singers. When I win the universe and run shit, everything I say will be backed up by my own personal pips:
If you do not own it, buy this Boz Scaggs DVD Best music DVD by far, and the lighting and set and sound are perfect.

From about 1987-1991, our nation’s cheese reserves were at their peak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFLGRidfFo4
In retrospect, we should have preserved some for future generations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbIEwIwYz-c

Old Dan and Little Ann
I was completely enamored with the Pinata Colada song when I was in High School for some reason. I was visiting my friend from NY at K.U. a few laters and they had this song on the jukebox at some townie bar. I played it a bunch of times in a row and explained to a couple of cute Kansas girls the cleverness of the lyrics. lol…

Here’s on I actually like.

Every time I see a muskrat swimming at the lake, I am pissed at Captain and Tennille, Because THIS SONG runs through my head and it’s a lie. Mean little buggers (the muskrats, I have no personal experience with either Capt or Tennille).

Let’s make some Kraft-werk

@Spaghetti Lee: Ha! My sister & I mis-heard the lyrics to that song for years, we sang it “ranchers dance with the farmer’s daughters, farmers dance with the rancher’s cows”. We figured that’s why they were always fighting.

Oh, so we have you to blame for the fact that, 35 years after first being inflicted on the music-listening public, we are STILL not free of the odious Pina Colada Song.
Besides being musically insipid, it’s got to have about the smarmiest, sleaziest lyrics ever penned. It’s basically about a couple who are so deeply in love and committed to one another that they are each secretly trying to fuck around with other people. Given that his search for a new fuckbuddy is based entirely on esoteric criteria, it’s of little wonder that he’s seeking to screw around on his “old lady” because he probably selected her using the same criteria. In any case, it’s pretty clear that these two don’t really ever talk to one another, because they haven’t even bothered to find out that they both like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and fucking at midnight in the dunes by the cape. Then in the denouement, they end up together again because she responded to his cheesy ad, which makes it clear that they are perfect for one another because, let’s face it, where are either of them going to find anyone as shallow as their current partner? In short, it’s a shitty, shitty song about shitty, shitty people.
This concludes the rant. Carry on.

So much cheese, it’s impossible to cut through it all. So little time. Has anyone mentioned Ram Jam and their Olympus Mons sized cheese classic Black Betty, bam-a-lam? If not,it will be hard to beat that. And I just saw the video for the first time. Holy jumpin’ Fred, that’s bad. I mean really. You think someone would have told them.

Anyhow, I heard this song this AM on the radio. It’s supposed to be a sad song but everytime I hear the “And the operator says 40 cents more for three! more minutes” I crack up.
