The next step after #hashtagactivism. Per the Washington Post‘s Adam Taylor:
On Saturday night, the strong words over the Ukrainian crisis took an unusually vulgar turn: Ukraine’s interim foreign minister, Andrii Deshchytsia, called Russian President Vladimir Putin a “d—head.”
“I am ready to be here with you and say, ‘Russia, get out of Ukraine,’ ” Deshchytsia said as he tried to calm protesters outside the Russian Embassy in Kiev. “Putin is a d—head, yes.”…
The song seems to have emerged from the football terraces, and united rival fans…
Kremlin supporters are understandably a little annoyed that Deshchytsia would publicly acknowledge an offensive football chant, but Deshchytsia claims he was trying to defuse a situation that saw Ukrainian nationalists trying to storm the Russian embassy…
I’m trying to imagine an American equivalent, but I can’t think of anyone who inspires the same kind of universal loathing. Donald Sterling? Donald Trump?

I’ve got ten candidates who do.
If you like your political news and satire NSFW, then you don’t want to miss Assclowns of the Week#99: Dr. Strangehate edition. On the spit this week: Rick Perry, Dick & Liz Cheney, the MSM, Pat Robertson, and much, much more.

I fear Билл из Портленда may show up to defend the beloved Путин in a manly, shirtless way.

He was addressing a crowd of protesters that he agreed with, and repeated what they were chanting. I can easily see any number of teabaggers addressing a crowd in front of the White House saying, “yes yes, of *course* we should lynch the nigger….”
Which doesn’t mean that Putin isn’t a dickhead. Of course he is. But it shouldn’t be surprising to find a politician in a country he invaded that will say so in public.

I never knew that the Kremlin had a tire swing until I encountered Billo Romanov.

Only a fascist would call Putin names.
I think the CIA made him say it or he wouldn’t get any more cookies from Victoria Nuland.

I guess that Bush/Cheney fits that bill nicely!

Yes I have a candidate: Dick Cheney, and he is back in the news. I think his approval was much lower than 27% if I remember correctly.

@schrodinger’s cat: 13% when he left office. Couldn’t even get support from half the wingnuts.

How do you translate the Post’s censor dashes into Russian? Was Putin a dumb head or a dork head?

I made it to 1:09. I’m a genetic liberal and that martial shit just gripes my cookies and freaks me right the fuck out. I told my mother at the age of 5 or 6 that I didn’t want to be a boy scout, a girl scout, a brownie or a rainbow girl at church, and I meant it – she never made me, and I never was. That’s why I’m here.

Say goodbye to Ailill Fatass Naughtypants, he fell prey to either wildlife or my sociopath neighbors. I just wish I could find the remains. I have all the past animals ashes saved to be combined with mine.

@raven: I wonder if his music was ever played on TV shows, I’m thinking Rockford Files, Kojak, 77 Sunset Strip, that era. The music is really familiar to me. It’s really good.

@Hal: A couple of things:
1) It is inaccurate to say that those delinquent commercial accounts are being left alone. The department in question doesn’t comment on specific accounts. They do say that they are taking action on industrial and commercial accounts as well. Exactly what that means isn’t clear.
2) Understand, the DWSD is owed $118 million in delinquent bills and more than half of the accounts are not paying. The city is bankrupt. Do you expect them to keep piping water to customers that don’t pay even though they don’t have the money?

@WaterGirl: Yes, I had the threats. But there are foxes, fishers etc right behind the house.
The sad thing is that he used to be really agoraphobic, and freaked out to even see the sky. He’s 8, and just this year he started going out in the yard hunting. He caught a few chipmunks, and lost 3# in as many months from the exercise. He used to get zero, didn’t even like to play much. He’d roll over and try to bat from the prone position. But this is the opposite side of the coin of his freedom.

The FBI and US Attorney’s office is investigating how former Virginia Democratic state senator Phillip Puckett came to resign his seat and throw state Senate control to the Republicans. Several of whom had promised him a job on the Virginia Tobacco Commission and to smooth the way to a judgeship for his daughter.
At the time, AG Mark Herring said his office would not be looking into the matter.
But now descend the Feds. And is it worse to offer a bribe or accept one? Numerically, more Republicans could fall here.
Popcorn time.
(Puckett’s pukeitude threw an obstacle into Gov. McAuliffe’s expanding Medicaid, which the GOP staunchly opposes. But this could play out rather sweetly, actually …)

I’m really hoping for rain tonight. We are getting 90-degree weather here, and with my tree gone the sun in my back yard is just brutal. 30-50% chance of rain tonight, so I am crossing my fingers.

@Tissue Thin Pseudonym (JMN):
Yes.
Elizabelle
@muddy:
I hope your kitty comes back. How worrying. Any chance whatsoever he could get trapped in a neighbor’s garage, or animal control?
muddy
@Elizabelle: I’ve gone to all the neighbors. Except the evil ones, they got an order of trespass against me because I gave their dog water. I called the 2 local shelters and gave his info. Also the vet in the village, people will often bring animals there as the shelters are in another town. There is no animal control.
Ailill does not ever go very far from the house, it was just this summer that he went off the porch. I can’t see how he’d get lost. Of course after recent events with the neighbors I fear the worst. And altho we are in the village, there are woods right in the back.
Hal
@Tissue Thin Pseudonym (JMN): BTW, the we don’t comment is a convenient buffer to criticism, but I’m not going to assume that everyone is in the same boat.
Tissue Thin Pseudonym (JMN)
@Hal: So who should be paying for the water? I have never lived in a city that didn’t cut off utilities that didn’t get paid.

muddy
@Gin & Tonic: There were reports of sightings of a fisher a couple of years ago, and I saw a really large fox after a really fat rabbit the other day.
The fact that the predator may well have been human makes me feel worse. The natural world is one thing, that’s another.
Tissue Thin Pseudonym (JMN)
@efgoldman: Here’s the thing, though. All of those “corporate” accounts that were listed are for places that are owned by the city of Detroit. That includes Joe Louis Arena, Ford Field, and the golf course. So that’s who you’re looking at there.
(As an aside, the issue at Ford Field and Joe Louis is a dispute over how much is actually owed rather than a refusal to pay. Those are in arbitration.)
So in all, the story is not at all what was first presented.
