Go Hockey!

The widest-open net I have ever seen in my life has gone begging. TB had their goal challenged, and reversed, on offsides on the play which set it up.

Will there be a thread for the hoop, too, or do we have to pollute this one?

Let’s go, Bolts!

Pissed about work. Thank God I’m leaving for 2 weeks of vacation in a couple weeks.

@PsiFighter37: Going anywhere good?

Why do we have threads for honkeys? Can’t everyone participate, or is this some sort of Bernie rally?
Oooooh. Hockey. Nevermind.

Go Coyotes ! ! !
(Back to Winnipeg, aye)

@Gin & Tonic: Norway for 1.5 weeks with my wife and several friends. Lots of good hiking and kayaking to be had, and most of it in remote parts where work emails can be safely ignored. Then I will visit the West Coast for a few days (SF for 1 day, Vegas for a multi-hour gambling trip, and then LA for a day). Finishing off in Boston at one of my wife’s friend’s wedding.

Great day on the water. We “left out” at 5:30 am and got to the amberjack grounds by 7. Nine people on the boat and we limited keeping one each in the 25-40 lb range. It was really calm so my ass is draggin but not nearly as bad as it would be if we had a rough day. Here’s an idea of how the “reef donkey’s” bend a really stout rod!
Adam L Silverman
@ThresherK: that sucked!
Gin & Tonic
@raven: That’s some pull.
Adam L Silverman
That sucked even more!

Not gonna jinx anyone, but if it’s a Toronto-OKC finals, wouldn’t that be a hoot? How many people lose a fucking bundle?

Pens are freaking me out and I can’t even discuss them.
IRL, my job has been so ridiculously stressful the last few months that I am more than strung out and exhausted. As of Friiday at 5pm, I’ll be on staycation for a week. I can’t fucking wait.

@raven:
Dunno if you ever listen to Car Talk on NPR (whatever, yeah, okay, PRI whatevs, I get it) but I always love the names of their staff. Their “Working Mothers Liaison” is Erasmus B. Dragon. LOL, always cracks me up.
raven
@Gin & Tonic: While I try I always end up setting the rod in that holder and cranking. They put belts on us while we headed out and I have never seen that on a boat. Generally they wait for the first hit but these guys knew they were headed right for the AJ’s and acted accordingly. Here’s a decent shot.
raven
@SiubhanDuinne: Oh yea.

@raven: nice.

Who’s seen Civil War by now?
dr. bloor
@Gin & Tonic:
You can start with the Corporate Americans who pre-purchased advertising slots for the finals.
raven
@Gin & Tonic: Thanks, I was happy on this trip before I caught it (actually I caught 3 of the 9 we kept but everyone for at least one)!
Omnes Omnibus
@raven: What is it?
raven
@Omnes Omnibus: Amberjack or “reef donkey”. The really put up a fight. When I started fishing down here they threw them back but now there is a one fish per person limit and they have to be 34 inches.

@redshirt: I plan to see it in IMAX this Thursday. I’ve been a bit busy.
I have been to Gettysburg more times than I can count though.

As a Sabres fan living in Pennsyltucky, I’m enjoying watching the pens and bolts duel.
These have been very entertaining games
So, Go Sabres! Golfing that is!

@Adam L Silverman: I’m a bit disappointed. Actually, more than a bit. It might be the best comic book movie of all time. Ask Grant.
redshirt
@Gin & Tonic: 11 12, 12, 12!
Adam L Silverman
@redshirt: I don’t understand why you’re disappointed if its the best comic book movie of all time.
As for Grant, if you mean President Grant, he’s a bit incommunicado these days. He also was not at Gettysburg. He was still in the western theater of operations at that time.
redshirt
@Adam L Silverman: Because you should have already seen it twice by now, at a minimum. But then, you’re more DC then Marvel, aren’t you?
Adam L Silverman
@redshirt: I’ve just been very busy. I’ve had three projects to put to bed since mid April and official travel right after it came out in the theaters.

You’re killing me !
I just switched internet providers 3 days ago and have had decent speeds for up & down loads. Tonight the wheels come off the cart.
It’s been like copper line dial up in the early 90’s. . .
Tech support from Bora Bora demands I post something to check upload speeds and download via THEIR website, vs. CNet, whom I trust. . .
If I only had a woodchipper. . .
Adam L Silverman
Much better!
redshirt
@Adam L Silverman: I’m sure you are. That said….
Do you deny your DC allegiance over Marvel?
redshirt
@Prescott Cactus: Google search “Speakeasy Speed Test” for a good speed test site. I’ve used it for over a decade.
Adam L Silverman
@redshirt: I read, these days and for the past decade or so, DC rather than Marvel. I’ve seen every Marvel movie in the theater (minus one, I think I was in Iraq for one of them), and have enjoyed them all.
Adam L Silverman
Much, much better!
Adam L Silverman
And we’re back to that sucked!
Adam L Silverman
Really, really sucks!

@Adam L Silverman: Was it Iron Man 2? The worst movie in the MCU?
Adam L Silverman
@redshirt: No, that was 2010. Its whichever one came out in 2008. I also missed the second Batman movie for the same reason – my team and I were at our BCT’s training rotation at the Joint Mission Readiness Center in Hohenfells, Germany.
Adam L Silverman
@efgoldman: It got better for about ten minutes there in the middle of the 3rd period. And then it got worse, much, much worse.
Richard Mayhew
@Adam L Silverman: nice game and game 7 should be great
redshirt
@Adam L Silverman: Iron Man or more likely The Incredible Hulk.
It was an OK movie. I think Hulk is difficult as a main character and far better as a supporting one, like in the upcoming Thor movie.
ThresherK (GPad)
@redshirt: Agreed. Can’t be in a position to not trust the tools.
Adam L Silverman
@Richard Mayhew: I expect both teams will be all amped up for the final.
Adam L Silverman
@redshirt: The problem, I think, they’ve had with Hulk is that they kept doing origin stories. Given the TV show in the 70s, I’m not sure there’s anyone who isn’t aware of the Hulk’s origins. I also think that it took until the Avengers to finally get the CGI right. Norton didn’t do a bad job as Banner, and the CGI was better than the Ang Lee Hulk, but the Hulk from the Avengers is the first time I’ve felt I’m actually watching the Hulk on screen and its not requiring a tremendous suspension of disbelief. I also like Rufallo as Banner.
I think there are a number of stand alone Hulk movies they could do if they decided they wanted to, aside from the obvious World War Hulk and Planet Hulk story arcs that could net them at least three sort of stand alone Hulk films that still had the ensemble cast component because of the stories.
