Still trying to spread the good word about a candidate for the House of Representatives representing 1/3 of WV in DC, Kendra Fershee. I know this issue is important to a lot of you, so here is Kendra talking about marijuana:
If you like what you hear, why not chip in?

Well, I didn’t listen, but I kicked in another donation on top of the monthly donations. This is local !!
Not only that, the thermometer showed the new totalizer amount right away, which is new.
Plus, also, too, now there’s a comment.
I quit active support for Richard Ojeda when he put up a Trump-loving front page about coal coming back from Trump’s wonderful energy/enviro policies, and sent in a letter about it. But he’s also a supporter of medical marijuana… of course the DEA types still tend to make it impossible for most folks to get medical marijuana, when it should be as available as Advil is.
NYC has decriminalized marijuana offenses, saying it makes no sense to spend LEO resources on such things, which seems enlightened to me. Colorado has done very well with their legalization program. Haven’t personally seen Callifornia’s effort, though commenters there seem to like it so far.

Threw in some money, hoping to help on the margins.

Good luck to her. She seems pretty good.

@J R in WV: I need some help with research on the results of other States legalization of marijuana. My NY State rep has come out against legalization citing the damage done in states that have legalized. He is an other wise good guy and generally intelligent and I want to respond with some facts and figures contesting his position. Pointing me to useful sites would be appreciated. Has any state just decriminalized without legalization?

I have many connections with WV-01 (besides Old Thing Cole): Mom was born & raised in Fairmont, Dad went to HS in Morgantown then worked at a coal mine in Grant Town where they met & married, still have a coalcarful of cousins in the area.
I’ll drop some $$$ in.
But TBH I think that ad would be much more effective if Kendra delivered the punch lines looking straight into the camera. Or if there was some quick reverse angle to one or more people she’s spozeta be speaking to. As it is she seems to be reading from a cue card set off to one side (in fact she is, but there’s no need to make it obvious) & that won’t help connect with her voters.

(OK, why TF am I in immoderation?? Lese majeste re the Blogfather???)

@J R in WV: Same reaction to Ojeda – went to his website before contributing, read him sucking up to Twitler on the coal thing, flipped the wallet shut. Kendra I can get behind.
