He is dangerous, but only because — like his purported employer — he’s the idiot catspaw for at least one foreign power. If he were even halfway competent, he’d keep his head down and his mouth shut. But then, who would know what a Big Swingin’ D*ck he is?
… In their chilling new documentary, The Great Hack, Academy-Award-nominated filmmakers Karim Amer and Jehane Noujaim follow the personal stories on both sides of the 2018 Cambridge Analytica/Facebook scandal that exposed the private data of 87 million Facebook users. Through the eyes of Professor David Carroll who sues Cambridge Analytica to release his personal data, Brittany Kaiser, a top Cambridge Analytica executive-turned-whistleblower, and investigative journalist Carole Cadwalladr, the film reveals how Cambridge Analytica used the same military-grade tactics of information warfare they employed against populations in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Eastern Europe to manipulate national political elections around the world, including the UK Brexit vote and the 2016 US presidential race. As one former Cambridge Analytica employee expressed, “It’s a grossly unethical experiment, playing with the psychology of an entire country without their consent or awareness.”…
Way to panic the rubes, dude. You’ll be lucky Zuckerberg doesn’t… er, that mysterious entities with tons of money and a strong interest in keeping Facebook profitable don’t find it in their interest to make your career go bye-bye, putz.
@parscale thanks for watching @thegreathackdoc I'm the filmmaker and would love to hear more from you. Would you sit down with us for an interview? #TheGreatHack

Debbie(Aussie)
So, do understand this correctly, that mr par scale is bragging about his and his boss taking the US for a ride through CA?

Don’t know what the latest issue is, but saw a headline on TV about yet another privacy concern with Facebook. No surprise. They’re not to be trusted.
@Debbie(Aussie): He’s been bragging about that for some time now.
Yarrow
If only Obama’s FDA had issued this warning.
Anne Laurie
@Debbie(Aussie): Brad’s a gangsta, see? He always wanted to be a Scary Criminal Dude, and now he believes we’re all terrified of his “game”…
Even in 2016, there were impartial observers (many of them Republicans) who thought Brad Parscale was an idiot out of this depth, picked up as a disposable puppet by the professionals around him. We didn’t fully understand just how criminal those professionals were yet — I’m guessing Brad didn’t either — but now he’s happy to take the ‘credit’ of selling out his country for the street cred. Because he hasn’t figured out that he’s a disposable little fish, the moron.

@Yarrow
My ghast is once again flabbered.
?BillinGlendaleCA
@NotMax: Sounds bad, you might want to see a medical professional about that.
opiejeanne
@?BillinGlendaleCA: While I am simply a ghast.

@NotMax:
I had always thought it was one’s flabber that got ghasted. You learn something new every day.

My wingnut SIL said why is it illegal and how could they influence any votes with Facebook / Cambridge Analytica. I have mentioned here a few times (sorry for repeating) a Haitian acquaintance who blew up at me for telling him I cannot believe the dipshit won. He said, “You do not know my politics just because I’m Haitian. I voted for Trump. The Clinton foundation stole from Haitians.” I read a few weeks later about Cam/Anal targeting Miami Haitians with bogus Clinton Foundation is ripping off Haitians stories.
So I said to the BIL I do not know what is legal, but I know what is wrong. And this micro targeting of lies to sympathetic audiences is fucked up.
…have never since talked about politics with my Haitian acquaintance even though President Miller is working to have him deported. We did enjoy the amazing second half comebacks Haiti had this summer in the Concocaf tournament. Wish they made the finals…
?BillinGlendaleCA
@opiejeanne: I guess that’s better than being a ghost.
Patricia Kayden
@Mart: I wonder how your Haitian acquaintance felt when Trump specifically referred to Haiti as a sh*thole country and expressed disdain for Haitian immigrants to this country. My husband is Haitian and while he may have had misgivings about Secretary Clinton, he and his family supported her.
RAVEN
@Patricia Kayden: Just words.
waratah
@Anne Laurie: I recently found out who he is by reading Beto’s Twitter. Beto’s followers call out Parscale’s bots and block them whenever they can. They are the first to comment, and are filled with the most disgusting words and photos. Sometimes they call them Russian bots. I am hoping that when they do this including misinformation that they are becoming more recognizable. Parscales name is getting associated with a lot of disgusting stuff.
Mart
@Patricia Kayden: He owns a restaurant we frequent. No politics discussed since he said he voted for Trump. I could ask him about Miller sending the (himself included) earthquake refugees back, but instead we talk about Futbol.
rikyrah
@Amir Khalid:
Me too.
Thought the flabber got gasted ?
Juice Box
@Mart: We don’t even know the extent of the hacking. It was so focused (and will be even more focused in 2020) that no one has seen the entire gamut of the abuse.
