NBC deserves what it gets for allowing Trump to get free time during the same time slot as Handsome Joe. Just as the ink dried on this dirty deal, Trump mocked and insulted NBC and Guthrie. Trump shits on everyone and so NBC deserves the humiliation. Too bad their execs are incapable of feeling shame for promoting this a-hole.

Talking about eating shit, here’s a good analysis of the forensics around that “Hunter Biden” Mac.

This Hunter Biden laptop story is fucked.

Docs show the laptop was dropped on Apr 12, 2019. They also show an external drive and its serial number.

Western Digital’s web site says that drive’s **3-year** warranty expires Apr 18, 2022
meaning it was manufactured Apr *18*, 2019. pic.twitter.com/2swmsbQ3ho

Washington Examiner has a tape of Ben Sasse telling the truth about the president.   Rumor has it that Sasse wanted to run for president in 2024.   I assume someone wants to discourage him.   I’m not going to provide a link, cuz it was the Washington Examiner.

“The way he kisses dictators’ butts. I mean, the way he ignores the Uighurs, our literal concentration camps in Xinjiang. Right now, he hasn’t lifted a finger on behalf of the Hong-Kongers,” he said. “The United States now regularly sells out our allies under his leadership, the way he treats women, spends like a drunken sailor. The ways I criticize President Obama for that kind of spending; I’ve criticized President Trump for as well. He mocks evangelicals behind closed doors. His family has treated the presidency like a business opportunity. He’s flirted with white supremacists.”

As the Trumptanic sinks, Rupert puts on a dress and gets on a life boat

President Trump’s influential supporter Rupert Murdoch is telling close associates he believes Joe Biden will win the election in a landslide.

The Australian-born billionaire is disgusted by Trump’s handling of COVID-19, remarking that the president is his own worst enemy, that he is not listening to advice about how best to handle the pandemic, and that he’s creating a never-ending crisis for his administration, according to three people who have spoken with Murdoch.

IMO, giving Trump air time will not help his campaign. Trump did what he wanted to in the first ‘debate’ and thereby persuaded most of the viewers that, yes, he really is a blustering, lying asshole. Getting him in front of an audience outside the Trump cult and in the real world is unlikely to help him. But we shall see.

It would be fun if Trump had Rudy come with him to confirm the bogus Hunter Biden NY Post smear. They could explain and elaborate the story, and we could watch it evolve in real time. It’s already evolved substantially, but the story arc had endless possibilities.

Like, Hunter Biden, who the owner never met because he had to leave for awhile, could have actually bumped into Hunter Biden staggering down the street, and Hunter Biden said “I left some computers at your shop because I want to recover criminal emails that I want to hide”

And then, like,  the owner realized something was wrong, and wrassled Hunter to the ground, but the owner fainted from the Hunter Biden drug fumes and ran off. And then a little old lady said… to the owner… that was that bad Hunter Biden, I bet he’s up to no good with that pizza basement buried out in the Ukrainian woods, I bet he’s trying to hide emails about that… on computers!

The TV provider where I currently live is Dish TV, and at the moment (actually since June or July, I think), Dish has been in a fight with ABC (actually with the private equity company Apollo, which owns the ABC channel in Atlanta). Until now, it hasn’t been an issue for me, as I can’t think of a single show on that network I yearn to see. But I really wanted to watch Joe’s town hall tonight. This particular Dish package doesn’t offer C-SPAN, so don’t suggest that.

** and they apply the term broadly and dangerously;  in Oregon, Tr and HSD and that CBP-associated group labeled  or assumed protestors as antifa at first w/o bothering to prove anything at all

Pre 2016 election, I  remember a court case (SC iirc, not sure) about a US citizen’s accused association with a terrorist-associated group (by sending a donation to a group overseas that did welfare work). It seemed dangerously close to application to civil liberties.   I mentioned here that Trump and his  SC court nominees could do serious harm to our freedoms of speech and association, but was told it wouldn’t happen.   (weak bitter laugh)

Trump uses the logic of death squads to praise US Marshals for killing an antifa sympathizer who was suspected of murdering someone in Portland

    —

Trump brings up Fauci, prompting boos at his rally. Trump then lies about Fauci’s statements, suggested he once said “do not wear a mask under any circumstances,” which he never did. “He’s a nice guy, so I keep him around,” Trump says, dismissively

The Food and Drug Administration approved a drug tested during the 2018 Ebola epidemic as a treatment for the disease. It’s the first therapy approved by the agency for Ebola, and shows that research done during an emergency can find effective drugs. Source

My apologies. On re-listening to this, I should have been a bit more careful. Trump has told the same story a bunch of different ways in recent days, but in the instance today that I was referring to, though Trump is bragging about what happened, he appears to be saying that the US Marshals decided on their own to extrajudicially kill the accused, and Trump is evidently glad of it. Trump says “We sent in the U.S. Marshals and in 15 minutes it was over…They knew who he was, they didn’t want to arrest him and 15 minutes that ended.”

Still absolutely shocking, but not exactly the absolutely shocking thing I took it to be. A different absolutely shocking thing

ETA: Eyewitnesses at the scene don’t exactly contradict Trump’s version of the story.

The thing is, I don’t think the worst thing about this is that NBC is rewarding Trump for refusing to follow the rules, and basically making it a replacement debate where he doesn’t have to face the other side. The worst thing is that the purpose of his town hall is the same as his purpose in making the first debate unwatchable — to try to keep Biden from getting any message out at all. In this case, he’s doing it by demanding that his event be opposite Biden’s, which there is no legitimate reason to agree to.

Yeah, it’ll probably hurt him in the polls like it did the first time, backfiring because so many people are voting against Trump instead of for Biden. It’s still wrong and infuriating.

the members of the task force that shot Reinoehl were only deputized marshals.  They were from other other local/state police forces –

    From Propublica

Reinoehl, 48, died in the street from gunshot wounds to his head and torso. The shots were fired by two Pierce County sheriff’s deputies, a Lakewood police officer and a Washington State Department of Corrections employee — all deputized by the U.S. Marshals Service and serving on a Tacoma-based fugitive task force, a common and standard procedure among local-federal partnerships. A U.S. marshal was also part of the team but did not fire.
