This is just a pretty damn spectacular story.

We begin with our hero, Austyn Farrell, locked down and bored a year ago.

So he made a music video out on his street and posted it on TikTok.

Been saving this thread for an In case of emergency… post. Serious topic(s) of the day, see thread below, please!

And then he made another – and that one kinda went viral.

Now he had an audience – online at least.

2/ pic.twitter.com/U1zozbxZ6H

— The Hoarse Whisperer (@TheRealHoarse) March 30, 2021

So he made another video.

And a few neighbors came out to watch.

— The Hoarse Whisperer (@TheRealHoarse) March 30, 2021

And they made this…

And it is spectacular…

I present to you, Austyn Farrell, The Greatest Showman.

They posted the final video and I just went back and found the full backstory. https://t.co/CSGnJe1QL7

This is just wonderful. This man has spread so much joy – and we all need more joy! Keep dancing @austynfarrell92 and can’t wait for theatres and shows to reopen so you have the biggest audience possible. https://t.co/AeDIWXImOl

    @Baud:

Republican voters don’t send their people to Congress to get things done, but to fight Democrats.

I stole the following from somebody, probably somebody here, but it’s inline with your observation:

Congressional Republicans: The Car Dealership Owner ClassWhat they want is to remain in the minority, phone it in at work, use the culture wars to fundraise trips to the Bahamas. Very few of them have any real interest in governing and these priorities demonstrate that.
There are a few of them that want to use the power of the state to crush their critics but mostly, they want to get paid for a do-nothing job, go to the country club and be on the teevee once in a while.
The thing about congressional republicans is just how utterly lazy nearly all of them are. No town halls, no events they might be criticized at, no real legislative efforts, just fundraisers and schmoozing and golfing. They are the car dealership owner class.

In a surprise stop during a visit to Greensboro, North Carolina, on Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris dropped in on the International Civil Rights Center and Museum.

The museum houses what remains of the Woolworth’s five-and-dime where, on Feb. 1, 1960, four Black college students sat at a lunch counter and politely asked for service ― a revolutionary act at the time.

@Jeffro: Oh, man…and I remember it like yesterday. I was on this site all damn day trying to process it.

I’m still not sure why Prince’s death hit me so much harder than, say, David Bowie’s or any of the other rock-pop culture icons who passed that year. It just did.

(And I’m still getting membership renewal notices from some public radio station in Minneapolis because I kicked them some $ in appreciation of their wall-to-wall Prince coverage during that time).

Prince was more of an icon than most “pop” musicians. He created more innovative music and was more independent than most musicians. Also was younger by far than the older pop icons that were dying at the time, and seemed healthier by far.

I didn’t know he suffered from chronic pain from a back injury. Pain can make your thinking murky even without the effects of medication. And there is nothing like the relief from constant pain.

He was such a creative and independent musician. We will always miss his creativity and musicianship. Killer guitar work~!!~
