    SoFi stadium is pretty cool. Most expensive stadium built in the US and with no public financing. It’ll also be handling opening ceremony duties for the olympics.     Agree with Humboldt Blue on the Rams uni comment, but as unis go these days, I think they are pretty good.  I HATED the Gold and Blues Rams era.  My preference would be the blue/white, followed by the blue/yellow classic in your link.

    Have to say that the UK coverage of the Superbowl has improved enormously since the last time I was up this late. They’ve figured out that just pointing a camera at the endless stoppages in play bores the shit out of non-native viewers, so they cut back to the studio at any opportunity where the ex-players can tell you what’s just happened and compete with each other at manspreading their enormous legs.

    I’m sort of following what’s going  on out there, mostly by ignoring the vast amounts of clearly made-up terminology the commentators are throwing out and just watching the replays. Its a fucking odd experience.

    Bengals for me, please. Make the anti-vax contingent cry.

    @Xantar: Normal. The show is for TV. And only half the stadium can even see it somewhat normally, and even they kind of have to be seated where the camera lines are.

    That’s what the big fucking screen up top is for – so you can watch it on TV while you’re sitting in the stadium having paid $10 large.

    Go rewatch the opening ceremony of the olympics and notice how the perspective on the floor only works for the cameras, and nobody actually in the stadium. That’s just how it is.

    I eat there, like the feeling of being a regular customer, but there is just about nothing on the menu I couldn’t make at home, just as well, if not better — the exceptions are deep-fried things because I don’t have the equipment. And I am not much of a cook!

    So yeah, I think most of his “finds” aren’t anything but a way to fill up a show’s worth of time.

    @OGLiberal: Loved Prince for the show and music, but this one stands out for the unapologetic Blackness.  Having Dre and Snoop, who were once demonized by White People saying “still not loving the police” on a national stage, Kendrick performing a modern day anthem to his people, in Los Angeles (a city that Red America loathes), and Eminem taking a knee for Kaepernick…that’s just next level.  Prince’s performance was incredible but it didn’t have ANY of that.  It was a phenomenal set but had no major socio-political context.  Apples and oranges.
