President Biden has spent time in North Carolina, getting lots of local press, meeting with folks, and doing it right.

Yesterday in North Carolina, I stopped by Eric’s house to have lunch with him and his two sons. I brought some Cook Out. They were an impressive family—Eric’s an award-winning educator and his sons are both athletic and academic all stars. We talked about the importance of family, building intergenerational wealth, the state of our schools, and I gave his oldest son Christian a couple of tips on what he should get for his first car. Eric had a lot of student debt forgiven, and he told me what a big deal it was for him and his boys. I go to work for families like Eric’s every day—hardworking folks who want to leave something behind for their kids. I loved the time I spent with them. Thanks Eric, for hosting me. Come by our place next time.

Scavenging is more common with dogs than cats, Byard adds, “but I don’t trust either of them.”

    Portillo’s probably isn’t the very best version of any of those staples, but they do a good to great job with all of them.  One stop shopping.

    The cook-out branch in raleigh where biden got his milk shake is only a half-mile from my house, and i occasionally get milkshakes there.  It is also a hot spot for students from three nearby big high schools to cruise through for eats and milkshakes, so Biden’s choice of that particular cook-out will generate some buzz in many local households, whether the household adults lean biden, trump, or undecided.

They’ll just post some image or video, it’s apparently supposed to be an outrage or somehow ridiculous and you’re supposed to just intuitively understand why that’s so, but you only will understand if you’re already in the club.

    Some of it is the “This is the future liberals want” kind of thing where if you think yourself into the mindset of Archie Bunker, you can maybe see why this is supposed to be outrageous or disgusting, but otherwise it’s just kind of cool. But some of it is so cryptic you can’t even understand it that way.

    Ms. Manatee is making Chicken Alfredo and it smells delicious. Homemade noodles and all. She discovered our daughter’s gift of cat themed measuring cups are not very accurate at measuring stuff. They are cute though! She checked first so all is good there. They have been repurposed for other uses in the kitchen so no loss.

    We feed ours the Blue Buffalo Weight Control (dry). Our cats like it but we still have to limit how much they eat. Kibble helps them to keep their teeth cleaner (according to the vet).

    Jay is right about the wet Blue Buffalo, our cats like it too and they get it on occasion.

    @schrodingers_cat: The friskies with gravy and chopped bits instead of loaf will sometimes do the trick. Otherwise it’s fancy feast. Every cat I have owned preferred gravy and bits over plain loaf type, even of fancy feast. Once you are sure he likes it, if he does, buy the cases, it’s cheaper. My sister and nephew try new fancy type advertised brands like blue buffalo and that wilderness one to indulge their cats, but report the cats don’t seem that excited by them so far.

    If you are really stuck, go to PetSmart and buy one small can of every kind and try them out, or maybe just 7 at a time as PetSmart carries several aisles of cat food. Write down his reaction to each.

    when I had to put mine on urinary care food, I went and bought all 4 kinds that PM carried and tried it to see what they would eat.

    @Odie Hugh Manatee: By twice the size I don’t mean fat. He was still a juvenile kitty when we got him he is longer and taller too. He was 9 pounds when we got and now he is 16 pounds.

    He was semi-feral when he was rescued. His family lost their home because of a fire last February. And didn’t come back for him. So he spent last winter outside, poor thing.

    I was catching up on old threads. The discussion about the Ford Probe had me laughing. I am a single woman who had a white one. The second generation. Mazda engine. It was a speed demon and a fantastic car. Got around 200,000 miles out of it. Sold it to a friend for his son against my better judgment. That car would move…warned the friend to warn his son. Son had it less than 10 days and totalled it. Thankfully no one was hurt. I loved my Probe!!!!
