That Charles Osgood sure gets around for an old guy- today he was broadcasting from Berlin.
In all seriousness, I thought the story about Adi Dassler was fascinating.

A Different Matt
A tequila post at 1am and a cognisant post on Charles Osgood by 10 am.
Not too shabby John.
Birdzilla
cBS SUNDAY MORNING i dont bother to even listen to or watch these habitiual liars and thats what 96% of the news is lies lies lies

Birdzilla — TV news is awful, I grant you that. But CBS Sunday Morning is not your usual news show. It’s more of a magazine show & it’s a-typically fantastic. Very interesting segments — and usually at least one that tugs at the heartstrings just a bit. Then every show ends with a long “moment-of-zen”-like few minutes of natural beauty (w/ natural sounds). A great way to start Sunday a.m. Anyway, even media haters can love this show. It’s just a relaxed, interesting load of fun. Highly recommended.

The 4% presumably is about the importance of controlling your caffeine intake.

Mega Ditto’s, Bird?

Birdzilla,
Seems that you and I agree.
Over at Common Dreams is a very good essay by Bill Moyers.
It’s worth the read as it speaks to the issue you present.

I watch this show every week. There’s always something amusing and interesting. And it’s the only TV show I know that closes with quiet nature film.

LOL…
Apparently Big Tent Dem suspended himself from Talkleft for violating the site policy.
Too funny.
John Cole
Link, please?
Ninerdave
Oh for fucks sake, Armando needs to get over himself.

I was also impressed especially after John’s post in the comments section:
John did you ever find something to spoon?
John Cole
Wasn’t there a Monty Python sketch about something like this?
John Cole
My pillow.
I wasn’t really all that drunk last night, I was just in a goofy mood.

You may have already seen where it’s located (BTD note on self-exile) John but here is the link

Just Some Fuckhead
Jesus, there are a bunch of stupid motherfuckers over there. I checked out the link and some of the comments and I’m just shocked people this catty and incapble of critical thinking are Democrats. I think most of these folks are lost to us. If McCain is savvy, he’ll choose a female VP candidate. With that move he can peel a bunch of these fake Democrats away from us.
Leo
JSF: Any women that are well positioned to be nominated as McCain’s VP? I think you are right that if he can choose a women without it looking totally ridiculous, it would be a big deal, but I can’t come up with any serious names that would fit.
Condoleezza Rice is not an option.

Meanwhile, the battle for hearts and minds goes on
This stupid, stupid boy just killed a few more of his comrades.
That indicates how serious they have to play this. The words are formulaic in making a formal apology; the tribal sheiks are bound by honor to accept it.
Just Some Fuckhead
Kay Bailey Hutchison, Elizabeth Dole, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Katherine Harris.
KRK
Leo, what about Christine Todd Whitman? Or does the combination of being pro-choice and having botched her post-9/11/01 role knock her out of contention?
KRK
Elizabeth Dole is too old. A little older than McCain.
Katherine Harris I would think is too tainted even for Republicans; do the Republicans really want to revisit Florida in November of 2000?
Susan Collins seems to be on the verge of being ousted by her constituents in Maine for being too much of a Bush water-carrier (and for campaigning on her perfect attendance record rather than actual policy accomplishment).
Just Some Fuckhead
She and Bob are vampires.
I just threw Cruella in there for comedy.
Rick Taylor
Now the question is will he post on Sunday, then ban himself until Wednesday for breaking the terms of his suspension?
Just Some Fuckhead
Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll ban himself.

From Saturday Night Live, the Clinton Obama ad.

Next Tent Spike Democrat will demand someone spank him for being such a baaaad, bad boy.
Notorious P.A.T.
What did he do wrong, post something that wasn’t deranged and delusional?
Ahahahahaha! !! The Republicans casting aside someone for incompetence! That’s a good one! Thank you for that.
D-Chance.
Nope. She’s being targeted for governorship of Texas.
Condi would be interesting, if only to keep the Dems’ overt racism on display for another six months. But she was out of her league the last few years, and she would be out of her league as a veep candi, too.
Rome Again
You’ve gotta be kidding me. This is the weirdest campaign season I’ve ever witnessed.
Rome Again
Very funny reading the comments on the TalkLeft link where Hilbots are stating Obama isn’t a midwesterner because he’s only been in Illinois for 20 years, yet, Hillary is ALL New Yorker. ROTFLMFAO! Yeah, right!
Rome Again
And then Jeralyn does her best to round up the stray cats:
So much Obama hatred over there, they think talking about how good McCain will be over Obama is a good thing.
This is funny stuff!
ThymeZone
Rome, I still say that Obama will beat Lyndon Johnson’s record for landslide victory over McCain this year.
McCain is basically one notch away from being a character in a Seinfeld episode. If he gets 35% of the popular vote I will be surprised.
Rome Again
OMG and it just gets better and better. From Nadai:
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Rome Again
As I see it currently:
McCain gets the Hilbots and some die-hard 28%er’s who decide that heading to the polls is still an important exercise in citizenship
The hardcore evangelicals either stay home, write in Huckabee or consult their New Testament and a few of them vote for Obama!
The corporate Repubs stay home with a few of their friends holding their nose and voting for Ron Paul.
Obama gets the independent vote and the true Dem vote. :)
Hillary goes shopping for a new country to lead.
ThymeZone
Sudan? I hear there’s an aspirin shortage there.
Oy, the headaches.
Rome Again
“It takes a village” would certainly resonate there.
ThymeZone
Once they found out who she was, I’m sure they’d welcome her with open machetes.

My Sunday morning for the last 25 years: coffee, bong, newspapers. CBS Sunday Morning. I like Charles Osgood. Does that make me a nerd?
I’m fine with that….
