Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Relentless negativity is not a sign that you are more realistic.

The line between political reporting and fan fiction continues to blur.

Those who are easily outraged are easily manipulated.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

The National Guard is not Batman.

The way to stop violence is to stop manufacturing the hatred that fuels it.

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

There are more Russians standing up to Putin than Republicans.

Fight for a just cause, love your fellow man, live a good life.

This really is a full service blog.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

We will not go back.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

It’s a good piece. click on over. but then come back!!

How stupid are these people?

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

The snowflake in chief appeared visibly frustrated when questioned by a reporter about egg prices.

They punch you in the face and then start crying because their fist hurts.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

Here’s the Canadian Amy Winehouse–without the eye makeup, beehive and, hopefully, drinking problem–to grace our open thread.

British conservative policies lead to a triple-dip recession:

I wonder what Sully thinks about this.

Chicken hawk Saxby Chambliss is retiring. What he did in 2002 was really low, so good fucking riddance.

@Alex S.: And they’re threatening to pull out of the EU.

3-1 they either go to war over the Falklands again or invade Scotland.

    Heh, indeed.

    @PsiFighter37:

Interesting! This is a possible pick-up if the Reps nominate one of their crazies.

    Sully thinks about this

The Cameron is a real man making tough decisions. The first man they’ve had in the job since St. Margaret.

That would be defend the Falklands. I’m not sure you can invade a country that you know, you actually already govern.

Just wait until they have a King again, instead of a Queen. IMO, their national psychology will change (monarchies are weird that way).

We’ll be hearing neocon pundits on both sides of the Pond quip about “Britain! Resurgent!” by 2040.

@BGinCHI: Actually, they didn’t invade, just sent in additional troops to support those already here, as well as doing major recruitment amongst the colonists, a sizeable portion of which were on Britain’s side.

South Carolina GOP chair has some interesting ideas on how Obama won…

[The Obama campaign] targeted inner-cities, and they had cell phone numbers that they could send constant text messages to. You talk to some of those people with Obama phones [sic], and they were getting 3-5 text messages a day from the Obama [campaign] to go out and vote. That’s reaching your base, man.

Maybe their international fortunes might improve if the Three Lions squad were to kick more ballboys. How shameful: the “brave and true” John Terry being shown up by some Frenchie.

Francois Hollande better watch out for Cameron in Davos. (though it would neatly illustrate just how much Cameron wants to leave the EU.)

@japa21: I’ve been to the Falklands/Malvinas and the people there (ALL of them)are more British than the Queen.

That and all the land mines that still remain (blowing up the occasional wandering sheep) can be quite unnerving.

    Unanimity in New England closer.

The Rhode Island House of Representatives on Thursday overwhelmingly passed legislation to allow gays and lesbians to marry in the only New England state where they can’t.

The House voted 51-19 after an often emotional debate that touched on civil rights, religion and the nature of marriage. The bill now moves to the Senate, where both supporters and opponents of gay marriage say it is difficult to predict the bill’s fate.  Source

Laugh about being Canadian all you want, that lady has pipes and can use them emotively.

Great song well done… better than Amy if you ask me, more emotion in the fine control.
