I have a hard time believing that the average Iraqi would not be inclined to tell a random pollster whatever they thought he or she wanted to hear, given their backgrounds.

Yeah, there is the problem of whether or not that reflects their true feelings. The pollsters did consult Eastern European pollsters for advice on that. (I think this story is the same as the WSJ piece, I’m too lazy to register at WSJ.) From the reporting I’ve heard from Iraq, it doesn’t seem like the Iraqis are terribly shy about criticizing US forces or the CPA.

Gee, do you think they were more skeptical, or less, of answering TV news crews’ questions under Saddam, when Mukhabarat people were accompanying them?

i think it is stupid wot i heard today that an iraqi family are going to sue the mod for the death of there family during the war…….wot a load of crap .we give them entry to are country and then they sue us no wonder the country is up the wall…..the goverment spend millions a year on asylem seekers…i say dont let none of them in then the real british people would have less time to wait fore nhs ,jobs ,housing….
