Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

You passed on an opportunity to be offended? What are you even doing here?

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

The words do not have to be perfect.

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

I swear, each month of 2025 will have its own history degree.

He seems like a smart guy, but JFC, what a dick!

Everybody saw this coming.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

Stay strong, because they are weak.

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

Let me eat cake. The rest of you could stand to lose some weight, frankly.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

I would gladly pay you tuesday for a hamburger today.

Their shamelessness is their super power.

We will not go back.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

The National Guard is not Batman.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls 2 years from now.

They are not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

I carefully but firmly explained that unlike his past girlfriends, I’m a grown ass woman and I’ve been grown about my shit longer than he’s ever even had his balls drop, so understand that I am fully capable of discussion, negotiation & acceptance of difference. Some people don’t become grown ass adults until they die. I’ve been grown since before I was 11. This is not anything to have huge fights over. I can’t imagine a relationship where you have a fight that lasts a week when someone is just trying to please you with a meal. Weird.

Oh, I have no room to criticize anyone else’s cleaning abilities. Living with me is like living with a frat boy, which is why we have cleaning people once a month. My own mother (who died when I was 7) was apparently a bad housekeeper herself, and my stepmom (current mom) came along too late to be able to teach me. Plus my undiagnosed ADHD didn’t help. So I am a terrible slob who feels guilty about having to be reminded, but still has to be reminded.
