I’d like to believe this particular calumny will be obsolete by morning, but I suspect it’s actually a warning that 2020 is gonna be even dumber than 2019…
How did Biden manage to suppress his white nationalist beliefs during all 8 years he was the VP to the first black president. Must be that legendary self control of his.
— Malarksist Revolutionary (@agraybee) January 2, 2020
There's a very selectively edited clip of Biden going around making it seem like he's promoting white supremacy. He's not. He's saying that violence against women has deep roots in English jurisprudence. This is from March of this year, same thing. https://t.co/5mnlhnviEZ
— ??Dante Atkins?? (@DanteAtkins) January 2, 2020
You should agree with him, he's right that our nation's many prejudices were born in Europe because we're a European settler state. He says point blank that it wasn't Africans who brought us sexism and racism, it was white people. What do you disagree with. https://t.co/1cHwwNv2Bq
— Malarksist Revolutionary (@agraybee) January 2, 2020
Every prominent left-lib Twitter account is basically going to be a bot for reproducing right wing disinformation and smears in 2020, huh?

"It's Biden's fault I'm so gullible." https://t.co/YyPpcx3oZv

This literally happened to Buttigieg two days ago!!!! https://t.co/kvyNF07FFM

I'm impressed by the speed in which big accounts are correcting themselves on those Biden videos. If they were capable of doing this for women candidates they wouldn't have a Biden campaign to be worried about right now.
— Malarksist Revolutionary (@agraybee) January 2, 2020
Their will be 10k+ follower accounts on this site dredging up that clip in late October as proof Biden is just as racist as Trump.

Baud
I’m glad to have missed this whole episode.
Impressed with David Atkins. I wrote him off years ago for spreading lies about Obamacare. Hopefully, he’s matured.
NotMax
Gawd, I’m getting really tired of the
MSMSCM.(Stopped Clock Media.)
Baud
@Baud:
Never mind. That’s Dante Atkins, not David. The guy I’m thinking about writes for WaMo.
opiejeanne
I saw a reference to this on Twitter, that a candidate was being smeared, but not who or what.
I have a nasty cold so I’m a little out of it, slept sitting up last night just so I could breathe. I may have to do that again tonight, not sure yet.
?BillinGlendaleCA
I had a long but productive day with an outing at 8am to catch the B-2 as it flew over the cave here in Glendale and then a trip up the San Rafael Hills overlooking the Rose Bowl for another shot of the B-2 flyover at the Rose Bowl. I learned that they send two B-2’s for the flyovers(I saw both the second time flying over the San Gabriels).
NotMax
@BillinGlendaleCA
You mean to say they’re not invisible?
//
This whole marriage of football and the military is problematic and disquieting.
?BillinGlendaleCA
@NotMax: No, the B-2 is not invisible. The F-35 is the plane that’s invisible. //
Does this look invisible to you?
The whole marriage of the military and football predates me and probably you.

By lefty Twitter accounts, I assume they mean bots attacking prominent commentators not just ordinary leftists and progressives with Twitter accounts. It doesn’t matter in one sense since the MSM, though they may find Trump disgusting personally are part of a corporate culture that dictates that either a corporate Democrat or a corporate Republican must be the winner.
Someone like Warren will be attacked relentlessly by both the MSM and Fox, which is an openly propaganda channel. I actually think that Bloomberg believes that the MSM will be solidly on his side because he is, of course, one of them and also has “executive” political experience. We will shortly see the extent to which the Resistance will prevail instead.

Unsocial media.
Social networks have warped overwhelmingly into weapons to enrage with social discourse.

@?BillinGlendaleCA: You guys must be Millennials. I grew up going to sports games in Pittsburgh (PA) a lot and not once, ever, did I see a parade of soldiers, a fly-by or other ostentatious military display at a sports venue. As far as I can tell, this is yet another dreadful consequence of 9/11. (OK, I am pretty sure they must have had these “honors” after WWII at sports venues but that’s pretty damn different.) My understanding is that the DOD has a budget just for this purpose so they are just paying the NFL and MLB with our taxpayer money for what is essentially propaganda.
Mainmata
@Mikeindublin: I think that may be overly broad, with respect. Many people host and/or follow blogs, sub-redddits, instagrams, etc that have nothing to do with polarizing politics. That’s even true for FB and Twitter. I personally despise Mark Faceberg and his cynical, make-me-rich policies but I have a lot of friends who don’t use the vehicle for spewing hate.
David ??Merry Christmas?? Koch
She should be running.
?BillinGlendaleCA
@Mainmata: I was born in 1960, in college they had the military presenting colors. We may have not had a flyover by a B-2, but there was a military involvement of some sort. DOD has spent more money with this sort of thing since the advent of the all volunteer military, it’s just advertising.
Gvg
@?BillinGlendaleCA:The land grant state colleges originally had required ROTC service for all male college students. I am not sure when the law was changed, but if you go back far enough, the college/military link is actually less today than it has been. Many of those state colleges actually shut down for WWII for a lack of students and instructors.
In my life time, the romanization of the military has increased, the further from the Vietnam war we have got, though. I think that is “natural” for humans, though still stupid.
Starfish
There were several very short disingenuous clips by the same account trying to smear Biden. Because I had seen another clip from the same account a few tweets earlier, I was able to disregard the one accusing him of racism. This account made a bunch of seconds long clips of Joe Biden. Now, there are a bunch of accounts that have changed their screen names to “Joe Biden is a racist.” Twitter is gross.
Amir Khalid
@David ??Merry Christmas?? Koch:
Linda Ronstadt is older than Elizabeth Warren, and not as physically robust as one would like in a candidate for public office.
Anne Laurie
@Amir Khalid: Also… while I am a great fan of Ms. Ronstadt, I believe she would be the first to tell us that we’ve tried putting an amateur in the Oval Office, and it doesn’t work!
WaterGirl
@Baud: Thanks for the correction! I couldn’t figure out what I had missed.
P.S. Good morning.
WaterGirl
@David ??Merry Christmas?? Koch: That’s so concise, i think I might actually throw up.
Gin & Tonic
@Amir Khalid: But I bet she can hold a tune better than Senator Professor Warren.
Amir Khalid
@Gin & Tonic:
Alas, no longer true because of Parkinson’s disease, which led to her retirement.
Ohio Mom
Um, Linda Ronstadt is terminally ill. The disease she has is killing her.

@Starfish:
I’m a decade older than BillinG and the military has been around colleges my entire life. I’ve also been around the Rose Parade a lot, being born and raised just a few miles from it and having lived actual in the assembly zone for a while, 2 blocks from Colorado and Orange Grove. The draft is still the law but no one has been drafted since the 70s, even though we’ve been through a number of military excursions and outright wars. The military has to sell it’s killing capability and desirability other wise there wouldn’t be a military. How many of the younger people running for office right now are ex military, men and women? How many younger people join the military because it can be a better paying job than they can find in civilian life? I know of one.
khead
I’ll be that politically incorrect BJ guy. I love football. I love the Rose Bowl. When it comes to the marriage between football and the military? Yeah, that’s a bit much. But the scene at the Rose Bowl yesterday? Magic. Just fantastic. Blue skies, the American flag, and a nice flyover. Lighten up. I look forward to seeing Bill’s pics.
jimmiraybob
This is dead on. I wasn’t the best of High School students but i do remember a couple of things that I heard (among other things during the height of the Vietnam War). One being that to forget history is to repeat history – paraphrase. I worked for a decade and when I finally hit the college/university circuit I majored in a science and hit the humanities as hard as I could – lots of history then and ever since. When Trump was running and when he was beating the “I am the only one” drum it hit me.
Like I said, she’s right on and that’s based on the weight of empirical evidence and so many similarities and not emotion or the passions. And not just in the case of the rise of Hitler and Nazism but he’s using the play book, whether intentionally or just through dumb blind luck, that they all used and continue to use during the the rise of all authoritarian systems (Mussolini and Franco immediately come to mind as “modern” European examples). They all played the churches like drums – restoration of family values, religious tradition, etc., etc., etc, yadda yadda, so on and so forth.
I’ve been a fan of Ronstadt since the very beginning and she’s not just talented, but smart and bold.
I highly recommend The Dictator’s Playbook – PBS – or Madeleine Albright’s Fascism: A Warning.
Ruviana
@Baud: Dante and David are twins.
SteverinoCT
@Gvg: I read a clip long ago (Reader’s Digest?) that during or after WWII the Army was sending men to colleges alphabetically, leading to one small school having an entire class made up of mostly Smiths.
Kathleen
@jimmiraybob: I highly recommend her memoir Simple Dreams. Her prose is elegant and uplifting.
Geeno
@Mainmata: I think it started with “Desert Storm” in ’91
jimmiraybob
@Kathleen: Thanks. I will get it and put it in the winter queue.

I have a bunch of F-35 pictures on my phone taken at an air show. They never demonstrated the cloaking device, sigh. //
(That F-35 was LOUD!!! And the exhaust flame was visible from a few kilometers during a partly cloudy day.)
