    John, you need to start banning non-voters. People know what this blog is about. You give and give and how often do you ask for anything in return? About once a week on average, which is hardly ever considering how much you post, (or used to post, anyway.)

    Apparently, after the 12 week contest, the judges get to decide everything, semi-finalist and winner. Rules say you can vote to “influence” judges:

    Seems like 3 possible ways to influence judges:
    1) Really cute photo that will look good in press release. Bitsy is very cute. Rufus, not as much. Bitsy universal appeal. Rufus just one breed, one specific type. They have to want a mutt.

    2) Heart warming back story that’ll give mileage to their “Winner” press release. Rufus looks pampered, not shelter rescue.
    They have a live chat/contact page. But will they like or resent our besieging?     Also, that there is NO WAY any of the winners are really going to give prize money to charity. Because people who rescue animals out of their own pockets for 50 years are pathological liars, by nature.

    @beabea: As I say ad nauseum, for your daily voting fix go to http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com. At the moment they have a contest for shelters and rescue groups, but each time year-round that you click (for free), sponsors kick in some money to a number of rescue organizations. If you don’t have a favorite shelter or group, my version of Little Bitsy is North Shore Feline Rescue in Middleton, MA. It’s a couple with a 501(3)c who’ve given their lives (and everything they own, which ain’t much) to saving stray and abused cats.

    I voted for Bitsy early today, and just left a brief suck-up comment on the blog. I’m very pleased to see her in the lead, hope she stays there.
