A reader suggests that the only thing Edwards brings to the Kerry campaign is big money trial lawyer connections, and thus wonders if the Kerry/Edwards ticket should be called the “Cash and Kerry” ticket.
Henry Hanks thinks this ticket should be called the “September 10th ticket.”
I prefer to call the “Tax and Sue in 2004.

Well, since you asked. . .:-)
Given Kerry’s failed, borderline pathetic pursuit of Senator McCain to be his running mate, his not-so-subtle efforts to associate himself with another JFK from MA, and the inevitable involvement of the Hollywood left in this campaign, the nickname for the newly minted Democratic presidential slate is obvious:
“Ticket of the Lesser Johns.”

“Horseface and Pretty Boy” comes to mind, though I really like “Waffles and Grits” as suggested by DANEgerus.

I believe I heard Laura Ingraham (talk radio) call them “Flip Flop and Mop Top”.
I really like Henry’s the best: “The Sept. 10th ticket”.

Actually, cash-and-carry is a long spot combined with a short futures position. I sense some irony there but haven’t time to flesh it out just now.
