Ever watch a movie that you had seen several years ago and appreciate the movie bunches more thqan you did the first time? I watched the Devil’s Advocate last night for the second time, and I loved it. I didn’t remember liking it that much the first time around. Weird.
At any rate, the Pacino was great in the last twenty minutes of the movie.

I’m gonna have to disagree with you here, john. I thought Pacino was awful in that movie.
I was always a huge Pacino fan but i used to get in arguments all the time with my then-girlfriend who said she couldn’t watch Pacino because he “over-acts”. I always disagreed but in that movie, it was absolutely true.
On anoter note and slightly off-topic, but whose idea was it to get Keanu Reeves to play a kinda down-home southern boy/lawyer? His southern accent was HORRIBLE!!
I mean, couldn’t they have gotten Matthew McConaughy or Brad Pitt (i think MM is from TX and Pitt is from OK. Not that they’re the south, but they would’ve sounded better than Reeves).
I’m from Philly, not the south, so it’s not like i have an axe to grind about getting someone from Minnesota to play a southern guy, but what is with that? HEll, Alec Baldwin, the epitome of a northeasterner, has played a southern dude twice, and sounded ridiculous both times. (there was that movie about the medgar evers murder, and also the movie with him and Teri hatcher where teri hatcher was naked for a few seconds. That’s all i remember about it).

The scene where the women turn into demons in the dressing rooms still scares me witless! Tamara Tunie, who’s now in Law & Order SVU, was one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen in a movie, and the scene lasted just a few seconds.

Jeff- there wasabout ten minutes at the end where Pacino wasawesome, starting with when Reeves confronted him for the first time.

Funny. This happened to me last night. Different movie (which I won’t name), but I recall seeing it several years ago and being very underwhelmed. Then I’m installing some software last night with the TV providing some background noise, and damned if I don’t get sucked into watching the thing, thinking, “This is a lot better than I remembered it.”
That doesn’t happen often. Usually it’s the other way around.
