Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

They don’t have outfits that big. nor codpieces that small.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

The unpunished coup was a training exercise.

The republican caucus is covering themselves with something, and it is not glory.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

The way to stop violence is to stop manufacturing the hatred that fuels it.

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls 2 years from now.

Jack Smith: “Why did you start campaigning in the middle of my investigation?!”

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

This has so much WTF written all over it that it is hard to comprehend.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

The snowflake in chief appeared visibly frustrated when questioned by a reporter about egg prices.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

Bark louder, little dog.

Democracy cannot function without a free press.

Just A Thought (via Daily Kos)

If Mark Racicot and the RNC were to cut off funding under two weeks before an election to a black gubernatorial candidate in a predominantly Republican state, do you think Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, or Harry Belafonte and the rest of the race-baiters would sit quietly by? Or would this be a sign that there is simply no room for a black man in the Republican party?

I know what I think their reaction would be.

I Am Sick and Tired of the Sniper Coverage

I know it is scary. I know it is awful. If I had my way, I would string him up myself. But will you stop the non-stop hypothesizing and shut up and let the authorities do their damned job? And enough with this damned white van bit. A car backfired today on my way to work and I saw five white vans. Hell, the sniper could be making his getaway on a yellow elephant and witnesses will be looking for white vans in the vicinity.

Whatever happened to Jon Bonet?

The Blind Leading the Stupid

Hesiod reads three different analyses of the Bush/McBride debate, all of which portray McBride unfavorably, ranging from confused to bumbling. He even notes that the papers are hardly right-wing echo chambers, and then states this:

I still believe we ought to support McBride, and give him a fighting chance on election day. And, given the animosity many African American voters have for Jeb Bush, it’s likely that turnout in the community may be very high for an off-year election.

Who cares if my candidate is such a babbling fool that even a traditionally left press can’t conceal it? We have to support him because, because… Well, because he is a Democrat and his last name isn’t Bush. Yeah, yeah. That’s the ticket!

And you wonder why Democrats can’t operate voting machinery?

*** Update ***

Hes-idiot Responds:

Funny. I was thinking something very similar when dipshits like Cole went to the voting booth to cast their ballots for Dubyah.

I guess we’re even.

We’re not even. You’re still stupid.

Cynical Ploys- the New Gravitas

Cynical Ploys- the New Gravitas

Have you ever noticed how in sync the Democrat party members are? Two years ago, the buzzword was ‘gravitas.’ You could watch television, and not one Democrat could be interviewed without remarking that Bush lacked gravitas. People like Eleanor Holmes Norton and Barbara Lee, individuals who barely understand gravity, were on the boob tube (never was it more aptly named than in these cases) telling us that Bush lacked ‘gravitas.’ This year the buzzwords are ‘cynical ploys.’

Cynical Ploy #1

Mr. Pataki’s Democratic challenger, H. Carl McCall, immediately denounced the Senate Republicans’ move as a cynical election-year ploy, accusing them of having no principles. Mr. Silver, the Democrat who leads the Assembly, also questioned the timing. “It is outrageous that after all its years of neglect, the Senate now promises to act in order to deliver an election-year gift to the governor,” Mr. Silver said.

Cynical Ploy #2

Representative Richard A. Gephardt of Missouri, the House Democratic leader, described the president’s initiative as “a cynical election year ploy” intended to appeal to elderly voters who are struggling with high drug prices.

And why is it that any time a Republican caves into Democrat demands, it is called a cynical ploy? Do the Democrats want them to reverse course? Or is it they just want to get their way and then still get to bitch about it? I happen to be in favor of Gay Rights, so kindly shut up, Mr. McCall.

Screw it- if politicians give me what I want, whenever it happens and whatever it is, I will thank em. And if any of you out there want to know what I want, it is the abolition of several cabinet positions, ending the war on drugs, making the Berkely city council illegal, and abolishing the income tax. I will be content with the cynical ploy of you merely instating a flat tax and getting rid of the Department of Education. Cynical as it may be.

Another question- Is switching your candidate for Senate even though it is against the election code a ‘cynical ploy?’ I guess it is.

Pedantry 101

Apparently, according the master of maturity, it is juvenile to call a democrat a democrat, and just as bad to call a democrat a member of the Democrat party.

Note the puerile use of ‘Democrat party’ in place of the correct usage, ‘Democratic party.’

The reason people call it the Democrat party is not to be juvenile, but because you jackasses use the phrase only when you want to make all the rest of the opposition seem UN-democratic. Is Michael Kinsely Marshall’s tutor?

Lautenberg, Part II

I guess I am not the only one to wonder what is going on with Lautenberg. I remember watching him speak after McGreevy (sp?) at his coronation speech and thinking he was a little light in his loafers, but I thought nothing of it. Then I saw him on television yesterday, and he seemed a little scrambled.

Like I said, his mental hygiene really isn’t an issue. As soon as he is elected, they will put someone else in for him- there is no way he will serve the full 8 years. And don’t expect a bunch of whining from Democrats about the voters being disenfranchised. Who cares if 45% of the people from New Jersey voted for Frnak Lautenberg- we can replace him with whomever we want. Remember, we all know you can only be disenfranchised if a Republican wins.
