White House Rebukes Israel for Attack, Calls It ‘Heavy-Handed’

President Bush issued one of his sharpest rebukes against Israel today, denouncing as “heavy-handed” the attack that killed a Hamas leader and expressing regret over “the loss of innocent life.”

“This heavy-handed action does not contribute to peace,” said the president’s chief spokesman, Ari Fleischer. “This message will be conveyed to Israeli authorities, and the United States regrets the loss of life.”

At least 14 other people, including several children, were killed in the missile attack that killed Salah Shehadeh, a founder and the top commander of Hamas’s military wing. Scores of others were wounded.

I feel awful about the tragedy that occurred in regards to the innocent children, and I am sure that this will be a major piece of propoganda for the anti-Israel crowd. I do not excuse the action, but I have a hard time believing the death of innocents was intentional.

The larger message, though, should be: “Hang out with murdering, terrorist thugs who spend their entire lives plotting and fomenting violence against innocents, and you might end up dead.” I can live with that message, and I hope some of the Hamas scum take it to heart.

Speaking of race-baiters and assorted vile human beings:

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton both managed to make their way onto the national radar today. Jackson was busy comparing police to militia groups (and not the good kind mentioned in the Constitution- you know- the ones who secured our liberties a couple hundred years ago), while Al Sharpton was left sputtering about an FBI video tape in which he is alleged to have held a discussion about a drug deal with an undercover agent posing to be a South American drug kingpin.

WIlliam Pierce, the unreconstructed Nazi, vile anti-semite, racist hate-mongerer, and de facto spiritual leader to every misguided skinhead with a noggin full of menace and bile, has died of cancer. The only thing I can say is that it was a damn shame it had to be something as slow as cancer, although we can take some pleasure in the fact that he may have suffered immensely. All in all, I would have preferred a heart attack about 30 years ago so we would not have to listen to his garbage.

For those of you who don’t remember, Pierce is the author of the Turner Diaries, the so-called ‘inspiration’ for home-grown terrorist and mass murderer Timothy McVeigh and a bunch of other putrid gun-nuts in Idaho and Montana.

Rot in hell, Pierce.

Steve Earle is a whacked out musician. I like to listen to him. He rarely, if ever, takes himself seriously, and neither should you. He is not trying to start an uprising, he is not trying to shape political opinion (unlike the jackasses in Hollywood or the whiny leftists at Common Dreams). He is just spouting off. Let him be.

The way to solve the problem is by not listening to it if it pisses you off. And while you are at it, you boycott Nazi’s, get your god damned V-Chip out of my god damned television.

Censoring rockabilly. Christ almighty, the terrorists have won.
