BRUSSELS, Belgium — The European Commission has attacked as “beneath contempt” a campaign in Britain against the euro currency featuring Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

Cinemas in Britain began showing on Wednesday the ad in which British actor Rik Mayall appears dressed as Hitler, parodies his famous salute and declares: “Ein Volk! Ein Reich! Ein Euro!” (one people, one empire, one euro).

Amusing that they come out harder against comic spoofs using dictators than they do against ACTUAL genocidal maniacs. Like Hitler. Or Milosevic. Or Arafat. Or Mugabe.

CAIRO, Egypt (CNN) — Arab countries trail much of the world in economic growth and need to make changes in political and social institutions, but gains have been made in areas such as education and health, according to a U.N.-commissioned study.

I am sure some simpering harpy will say that this should be cause for celebration because the U.N. is finally seeing that changes need to be made. To me, this is a sign of the utter incompetence of the U.N. This is News?????

I went to the used bookstore down the street yesterday, and I have good old Ludlum spy novel to read. I love older paperbacks when they get that old book smell and they have the yellowing pages. Charles Johnson, whose work at unearthing and pointing out Middle East atrocities is unparalleled, has discovered the most disgusting and awful type of primitive, subhuman, tribal/Islamic justice I have ever heard of:

According to the victim, the Mastoi tribe demanded punishment after her 11-year-old brother was seen walking unchaperoned with a Mastoi girl in a deserted part of the village. The boy and his sister are from the lower class Gujar tribe.

The Mastoi tribe called a meeting of the tribal council, which ordered the girl to be raped to avenge their tribal honor. The teen-ager said she was taken to a hut and assaulted as hundreds of Mastois stood outside laughing and cheering.

Really- subhuman, primitive, simian- these are the only words I can muster for these scum. I want to go bitch slap every college professor who says that all cultures are equal.

One positive note- I have noticed that the mainstream media picked up on this story, and that in general, they have been doing a slightly better job of covering these atrocities. Maybe bloggers are having an impact.

So you get beaten like a rented mule in front of an audience of 1.5 billion people. No problem. Soccer sportswriters around the world, in an apparent attempt to turn off more Americans and to make themselves seem more laughable, have just awarded the Golden Ball to the LOSING goalkeeper, Oliver Kahn. That means the person who treated him like a red-headed stepchild, Ronaldo, has been snubbed.

This is akin to awarding Mike Tyson the MVP award for the last Tyson-Lewis fight.
