Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The media handbook says “controversial” is the most negative description that can be used for a Republican.

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

New McCarthy, same old McCarthyism.

Do we throw up our hands or do we roll up our sleeves? (hint, door #2)

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

“Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on.”

There are some who say that there are too many strawmen arguments on this blog.

Let the trolls come, and then ignore them. that’s the worst thing you can do to a troll.

Dear elected officials: Trump is temporary, dishonor is forever.

There are consequences to being an arrogant, sullen prick.

A norm that restrains only one side really is not a norm – it is a trap.

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

We can show the world that autocracy can be defeated.

This has so much WTF written all over it that it is hard to comprehend.

There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

He seems like a smart guy, but JFC, what a dick!

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

We are learning that “working class” means “white” for way too many people.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

‘Europeans’ chime in on “Why America Sucks, Part 12322 in an unlimited series” on the front page of the NY Times web edition.

The decision by the Pentagon to keep the detainees in Cuba, out of the jurisdiction of American courts, and not to classify them prisoners of war under the Geneva Convention has troubled America’s closest allies, making it look as if the United States is “making up the rules as it goes along,” said a West European ambassador here.

Abdul Qader Tash, Senior columnist, Arab News, Al Madina newspapers, in an article titled America’s love for Jews and Israel finds a reason to dislike former President Clinton that is as perverse as it is unique:

Perhaps America’s “ardor” for Jews is best exemplified by its former, and unlamented, president, Bill Clinton. If they had the power to change the US constitution, the Jews would have amended that document to elect Clinton as president for life. They had every reason to do that. No US president had been such a servant of the Jews as Bill Clinton was. His term is considered by the Jews as the best time for them, as clearly stated by a number of Jewish leaders. What is more, Clinton was not satisfied with serving the Jews while serving the mightiest nation in the world as its president; he continues to serve them after leaving the White House.

The other day, there were reports that Clinton’s present income is more than his earnings in the eight years he spent in the White House. The income is from the lectures he has been delivering at various places. Some attribute his success in the lecture circuit to his handsomeness, eloquence and charisma. There may be some truth to that. However, the real reason, many others say, is that he has proved himself an excellent salesman. After he left the White House, he gave three lectures in the UK, the entire proceeds of which went to Jewish charities. That smart move opened for him the doors of Jewish organizations to speak, for hefty fees, on “the Jewish question”.

Then, what do we call Clinton’s love for Jews? True, manufactured, or feigned?

And I ask, what do we call the ‘Destroy Israel at all costs’ stance held by Arab intellectuals? Disgusting, disturbing, or deranged?

Rich Galen has a great idea what to do with the ‘detainees’ in Cuba:

Here’s a great plan: In order to guarantee that the thugs in Cuba and Alexandria are treated properly they should all be turned over to civilian authorities

The scandal that will get no mainstream attention (other than this Will Op-Ed): the massive voting irregularities in Missouri in Nov. 2000. We expect no outrage from Mary Frances Berry and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
