Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The republican caucus is already covering themselves with something, and it’s not glory.

Eh, that’s media spin. biden’s health is fine and he’s doing a good job.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

I was promised a recession.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

Republicans do not pay their debts.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

… pundit janitors mopping up after the GOP

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

I’m pretty sure there’s only one Jack Smith.

Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace.

No one could have predicted…

I’d try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

Why did Dr. Oz lose? well, according to the exit polls, it’s because Fetterman won.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Bob Graham’ diary for 2 October 2003:

8 am: Breakfast

12 pm: Lunch

5 pm: Dinner

6 pm: Acknowledge that there is no chance in hell I will ever be President.

Democrat Bob Graham (search) will hold a news conference Friday to announce that he will be dropping out of the presidential race, Fox News has learned.

Graham’s campaign only has about $1 million cash on hand, causing a dire financial situation and the spokesman for Graham’s campaign resigned Thursday as his staff considered how to save his lagging candidacy.

Jamal Simmons told Graham and his wife, Adele, that he was leaving as the candidate prepared to meet with his advisers at his Miami Lakes, Fla., headquarters to discuss the campaign’s future.

As he left the meeting, Graham said his advisers presented alternatives for the campaign but no decision had been made.

“We’ll make a decision shortly,” said Graham, Florida’s senior senator.

After the meeting, an official close to Graham said he was letting go of several staff members, some of them senior aides — but did not say that Graham was withdrawing from the race.

I used to respect Graham before he entered this race.

*** Update ***

As noted in the comments section by Gary Farber, this Fox News announcement was premature. I stand by the accuracy that Graham will dorp out of the race and never be President- I was just a bit early.

I used to think of Graham as one of the adult Democrats.

I agree with Tom. Bob Graham pre-candidacy was level-headed. But when he had to start competing for the democratic nomination, he tried to out-Dean Dean to get the radical fringe vote.

Yeah, I hate it when people in the opposite Party criticize my President’s decisions. It’s like, how childish!

I have less than a million dollars on hand.

What condition is worse than dire? I am there.

Um, Johm? Might you not prefer to wait until events actually happen than to post, immediately, unreliable, unverified reports?

This is a habit an unfortunate number of bloggers seem to have picked up from irresponsible journalism. Best to be first and wrong than to wait to be, more likely, right.

It doesn’t make for terribly useful blogging. (Bioweapons seized by Kuwait! Uranium seized by former Soviet State! Aliens possess J-Lo! I am not a reliable reporter who can sensibly gate-keep!)

I’m resisting the urge to note that you’re quoting fair and balanced Fox News. No point to be made there. Nope. They’re trustworthy and accurate! Rupert Murdoch is reliable! Ask the Chinese Government!
