Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

The line between political reporting and fan fiction continues to blur.

If you thought you’d already seen people saying the stupidest things possible on the internet, prepare yourselves.

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

Roe is not about choice. It is about freedom.

Oppose, oppose, oppose. do not congratulate. this is not business as usual.

If you voted for Trump, you don’t get to speak about ethics, morals, or rule of law.

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

A norm that restrains only one side really is not a norm – it is a trap.

Oh FFS you might as well trust a 6-year-old with a flamethrower.

She burned that motherfucker down, and I am so here for it. Thank you, Caroline Kennedy.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

Shut up, hissy kitty!

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

Republicans don’t lie to be believed, they lie to be repeated.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

In my day, never was longer.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

Donald Trump found guilty as fuck – May 30, 2024!

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

They were going to turn on one another at some point. It was inevitable.

Do we throw up our hands or do we roll up our sleeves? (hint, door #2)

But Jesse makes sense (to a degree- before he starts hurling grenades again) on this one.

I personally do not care what the new Miss USA thinks about Iraq, anymore than I care what Barbra Streisand or Alec Baldwin think about Iraq. In fact, after watching the Q&A portion of the contest, I would make a firm argument that conservatives and pro-war partisans could find a better spokesman for why the War in Iraq is a good thing.

As an Oklahoman, I had the misfortune of stopping down for a few minutes of Miss USA and heard Miss Oklahoma say that of all the people in the world she could have dinner with, in a giggly voice, it would be Justin Timberlake.

Please accept my apology on behalf of all the non-giggly Oklahomans.

I thought Miss Oklahoma was beautiful- and I don’t hold her to her remarks- she is just a kid.

Miss Tennessee was one of the most beautiful women that I’ve ever seen (Mrs. West tops the list of course). :)
