Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

Those who are easily outraged are easily manipulated.

Speaker Mike Johnson is a vile traitor to the House and the Constitution.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

It is not hopeless, and we are not helpless.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. keep building.

People are weird.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

There are more Russians standing up to Putin than Republicans.

Giving in to doom is how we fail to fight for ourselves & one another.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

The snowflake in chief appeared visibly frustrated when questioned by a reporter about egg prices.

The only way through is to slog through the muck one step at at time.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

“Perhaps I should have considered other options.” (head-desk)

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

They punch you in the face and then start crying because their fist hurts.

I finally saw Star Wars, and as predicted, I loved it. I was moved almost to tears.

Of course, I am a geek.

So did you dress up as a Jawa, or as a Storm Trooper?

Now you can check out how the script differed from the film, deleted scenes and lines, and my observations on them, if you like. Four sequential posts, starting at the link and going up. (Feel free to link. :-))

I can out geek you. I’ve been twice, and I will be going again tomorrow with the non-geek Mom. The Millinium Falcon is in a scene at the beginning and I have to find it. My husband saw it, so I know it is there.

I hide my geekiness under a normal exterior, so I can fly under the radar at family functions. I think they are on to me, though.

Stormy, I can confirm what your husband saw. I saw it for the second time this past Sunday and caught the Falcon as well. I won’t say where, in case you’re trying to find it on your own, but it is there (or at least a Corellian ship of the same design)

Yes, I too am a Star Wars geek (but I don’t dress up for the movies…)

Oh, that could’ve been ANY Corellian freighter. ;)
