Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

Let’s finish the job.

New McCarthy, same old McCarthyism.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

I didn’t have alien invasion on my 2023 BINGO card.

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

It’s time for the GOP to dust off that post-2012 autopsy, completely ignore it, and light the party on fire again.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Prediction: the GOP will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

In my day, never was longer.

They’re not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

Meanwhile over at truth Social, the former president is busy confessing to crimes.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

Optimism opens the door to great things.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

The GOP couldn’t organize an orgy in a whorehouse with a fist full of 50s.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

And the long dark period from January to August is almost over. In a little over two hours, another season of Steeler football starts, with the Steelers opening at home against the Titans.

If you are a Steelers fan, this is hands down the best fansite for information and other stuff.

I dunno, the game to watch IMO is New Orleans versus Carolina today at 1PM.
I expect the Carolina fans to go wild when the Saints hit the field.
Also there’s a kind of weird cosmic irony that the Saints are coming from a State that just got hit by a hurricane, to play in a State that is most likely getting READY to get hit by a hurricane.

    John- you’re a Steelers fan?!?!?
    OMG that sucks. ;-)

I guess I can still read your blog, but I will only do so while wearing a Titans jersey.

PS My boys have just scored.

    Titans 7 Steelers 0

Formerly being a Browns fan (until they went to Baltimore and I migrated to my native Indy), I don’t have very warm feelings for the Steelers. On the other hand, I’m a Miami (OH) alumnus so I like it when Big Ben does well. And, I’m an IU alumnus, so I like it when Randle-El does well.

After the showdown at The Shoe the NFL seems a bit of a letdown.
