Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

“But what about the lurkers?”

Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

This just in from the Associated Press wire service…

White House sources have confirmed that President Bush, reportedly deeply dissapointed with House Republicans for the rebuke of the Wall Street bailout, plans to address the American public Tuesday morning in which he will bring to the American people his alternate bailout plan.

These same sources were quoted as saying that the President’s new plan involves sending the recalcitrant House Republicans who voted down the legislation, known on Capitol Hill as the “Red Pussy” Republicans, hunting with Vice President Dick Cheney. No word yet on whether the Congressmen will be furnished with live ammunition in their weapons.

    Now back to you, Tom…

Daaayummm, Dubya’s bummin’ on his peeps, yo!

    Hunting is sports, right?

Only those two teams could make the last two minutes of a tie game utterly boring.

That sucked! I needed the Raven D to get some tonight for my fantasy team.

Fantasy has COMPLETELY ruined my ability to simply enjoy watching football.

Those are my two favorite teams in football, so I couldn’t lose. It was a great game.

What an unwatchable game. The Steelers don’t exactly play pretty/fun football, but the Ravens are the ugliest football team possible. I don’t know how that offense ever scores. If there’s football in hell, it’s just Ravens vs Ravens, playing a never-ending 0-0 tie game.

The box showed that the Ravens convincingly beat the Steelers offensively. Strange someone would say the Ravens have no offense.

Still, it is just fools ball and you gotta enjoy a hard fought game, unlike congress and the repubs who are playing the dems like musical instruments and Obama had better stay clear. This is a trap big time. If the dems pass this, they will be tarred as Wall Street elite, and if they don’t, everyone takes a hit in the 401k and stocks and they take the blame. Thanks to bush ass licker and his criminal friends, we are screwed and the repubic congress that served the special interest groups for nearly seven years of bushwhack’s term.

Gotta love it – create a mess, pass it to the other party and then raise hell about it. Americans are stupid. No wonder we believe we won WWII. Next, we will believe Iraq had WMD and … shit, been there done that. Well, repubs could get a democratic Pres to repeal all our good FDR regulations … shit, done that too. Well, they could never get dems to accept a rightwing nut, blow job loony on the supreme court .. shit, been there twice!

If Obama doesn’t take over this party fast from the losers in congress (Pelosi is the worst loser I have ever seen holding that position. The dumb (fill in the blank) would trade anything for power and has allowed the repubs and bushwhack to run the show since day one of the dems taking congress. If that dumb (fill in the blank) isn’t removed, even Obama as Pres will have to ask the repubs for permission to run the country), we are fu*k beyond fu*k.

Never! I am acquainted with an older gentleman who fervently believes that his god answered his prayers when Johnny Drama picked Governor Palin. He has been praying that his god would answer his prayers and that Palin is the answer to the Great Sin of the Holocaust! (You now the Holocaust–the one where billions of babies have been killed by liberals and their sinful love of the abortionists.) Governor Palin was sent by his god to save the babies from certain death at the hands of the Democrats, Abortionista and Liberals. It is rather comforting to know that very rich, and very old, white men are still free to be morons and haven’t been silenced by those meanies Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi.

Bushwhack cried and cried this morning on TV and passed blame onto congress – wait, 2/3’s of democrats supported a bill to save the ass of bushwhack and help McInsane but most of the repubs didn’t. Pelosi is a wonderful republican trying her best to save McBush. Obama is winning because of this failure – he looks good, didn’t claim credit for a done deal like McStupid did before the vote and the wall street crash just makes Obama look better and more with it. So, the repubics are aiding Obama by being assholes and the democrats fight like mad to aid bushwhack. This all makes so much sense. The more things change, demorats are ruled by repubics again but this time, they are shooting themselves in the foot.

Actually, I’m beginning to think that SOMEONE (I won’t say Pelosi because I doubt it) on the D side played their cards right yesterday. To hear Clyburn tell it, the Dems were already providing more than their previously agreed on share of the votes, and then the Republicans fled in droves and rather than whip up the votes on the Dem side, they let it crash on top of the Republican’s heads. I think it puts them in a better position than they were yesterday, and they didn’t have to do anything slimy to get there.

I gotta say I have no understanding of this stock market at all other than it has to be a batch of gamblers at play. I suppose this morning’s rally has something behind it, maybe shorts covering?

It was interesting listening to Bush this morning. He really needs to sell this bailout to the American people, cuz they are the ones putting the fear of God (or votes) into the Congresscritters. But he can’t do it. He doesn’t know how to sell us anything, because he doesn’t have any clue what normal people are like. If he had any empathy, he could talk to us, feel our pain, and explain why this bailout is horrible but necessary, and make us feel all comforted and like Dad will take care of everything. Instead, he’s just out there haranguing us all, which just makes people feel negative.

He really is quite a spectacular failure.

I wonder how people, including my brother, who thought that Bush was literally God’s gift to the world, feel about him now.

This morning’s rally is based on that thing called hope. That and the fact that another day like yesterday for the S&P would be pretty much the end of our credit-munching way of life.

Just a thought, since there are now a ton of new comment features, (a bunch of which I don’t have the faintest idea what they do) how about John cobbles together some “comment tutorial”-thing and then puts a link to it on his home page. That way it won’t sink into internet oblivion the way the link tutorial did.

John’s just as lost as you and I at the moment. Most of the comment features, for now, do not work. Our resident IT goddess, Annette, is tryin’ to get everything fixed for us, but apparently she has a “job” and “employment” and “other customers”, so it might not happen as soon as some of us might like.

Have patience. Site hasn’t gone down once since the switch and that’s at least an hour restored to my day.

the blockquote and see if I can make it do what I want.

    And a list:

    the first list item

    the second list item

    the third list item

    Maybe an ordered list:

    the first list item

    the second list item

    the third list item

    Enough for now.
