    I already left condolences over at his place, but Tbogg, if you are reading this, my deepest sympathies to you and your loved ones. I am sending a white light to guide Beckham to the other side where he can play happily. May he look in on you from time to time to see how you are doing.

    You know what might cheer me up? If the Pelosi took the House’s version of HCR, slammed it on Harry Reid’s desk, and demanded he force it through a filibuster. Make the Senate do it’s damn job, for once. If the rest of the country has to sit here with our thumbs up our asses, the 100 jackasses responsible should have to work for it.

    What have they got to lose at this point? I want everyone to see an honest-to-god filibuster.

    One of my favorite pictures was Beckham snuggled near Mrs. Tbogg. The first thing that I thought of was who will keep her feet warm. Beckham is now with the great Satchmo in the sky and I’m sure Fenway is just wandering around not sure what to do. Such sad news.

    @JenJen: Best of luck with your pup. Just before the holidays, my 9 year old was going down hill fast. Nothing like rolling over in bed and putting your hand in a puddle that the dog’s still sleeping in to wake you up real fast. A month later, this total needle phobic is giving Pepper insulin 2 times a day and we’re doing much better. Never would’ve thought it would work. Good luck.

    Huge condolences to Tbogg and family. Beckham was too damned young. I cried when I read t news site earlier. Please let folks know if there is anything we can do to help you out.

    More than a little off topic (I left condolences at TBOGG’s place), but I have formally requested to retire from the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
    After 22 years of regular and national guard service, it’s time to hang it up. It stopped being fun a while back anyway. They wouldn’t let me stay in a line company and run around playing GI Joe, and the thought of sitting in Kabul pushing paper from one side of a desk to the other in brigade HQ is less appealing than gouging out my eyeballs with a spoon. So I’m done with that, and I get to sleep in one more weekend a month.

    Tried to post my condolences to Tbogg at his blog but could not remember my password, it’s been too long. So I will tell him here, how much I feel for him, that I have been there and know how grievous the wounds are. It gets better with time, but a part of you is always with them.

    @JenJen: I hope & pray that things go well for you both at the vets.

    I have lost dogs to prolonged illness, to gradual decline ending in euthanasia, and to a sudden, unexpected, irreversible systemic collapse. Didn’t expect it to work that way, but Flash’s surprise collapse and death after three days in the ICU was the hardest to recover from — for the longest time, I’d jolt out of a sound sleep thinking I was “failing” him.

    One side effect of TBogg’s post is that a lot of dogs across the blogosphere are getting extra love & attention tonight… just because. The Beckham Memorial Skritchies…

    Re Beckham: I am so sorry I never visited TBogg’s site and didn’t know about that lovely dog until his passing. But TBogg, if you see this, know you have deep condolences from a stranger. From the photos I saw, Beckham was just lovely. I hope the wonderful memories edge out the sadness and give you and your family great comfort.

    I liked Satchmo but Beckham grew up on TBogg so I feel more of a connection to Becks. I love the Jack Nicholson/Clint Eastwood “make my day” kind of look he had in a lot of the pics. Gonna miss him.
