Here’s giant flatulating West Texas asshole Randy Neugebauer (R-TX-19) telling a National Park Ranger that she ought to be “ashamed” for following orders and putting up barricades to close the World War II Memorial because Randy voted for a shutdown.
One of the two people talking in this video are drawing a Federal paycheck right now, and it sure as hell isn’t the woman who has to put up with Randy’s bullying.
Oh DPM, you do not want the feds coming after you like they did with that Silk Road guy. I don’t think even using Tor will protect you.
I wonder if they could clean the audio up a bit and get this whole clip onto the network news tonight?
Wish it was longer; suspect there was more grandstanding prior.
Most viewers know it is Republicans in Congress, and not the Park Service, that closed the National Parks.
If it hasn’t already, this needs to go viral. Glad to see that there were some spectators who gave him some ‘how dare you…’ backlash.
J.A.F. Rusty Shackleford
I hate these people.
By calling Mr. Neugebauer an asshole, I think you are being insulting to actual assholes, which do perform an important function for the body.
Ha! “Let’s take this somewhere else.” Was that Randy, or one of his entourage saying that? Because the guy with the bike helmet told ol’ Randy that the shutdown was his fault. Shame on him for badgering the Natl Park Ranger, who just happened to be a woman.
The meme is already spreading that Obama personally ordered the closing of the veterans memorial.
You have to forgive the Republican congressman, he’s used to not having to do his job and just doing whatever the blue fuck he pleases, so he’s understandably confused the ranger isn’t following his sterling example of professional conduct.
The twitter machine is telling me Wolf Blitzer’s begging every Dem that comes on his shoe to negotiate with the crazies in the House.
The sheep have their marching orders.
This and other similar stories are deflection. The gop is losing the messaging battle so they always, always have an outrage default position to fall back on. We are better off ignoring this, even though the rep is a turd. We need to stay focused. Dems dont need to name call or backstab. The gop is proving quite capable of handling that themselves. Lets hope Dems remain united and no capitulation.
I feel terribly for the businesses around Yosemite.
First the Rim fire during prime tourist season, and now a shutdown for the early fall tourists. 600 of 750 Park staffers are furloughed. Yosemite closes at 3:00 p Pacific, although some back country hikers are likely to be traipsing about.
Yosemite’s in California’s 4th congressional district, represented by the very conservative Tom McClintock.

Randolph Neugebauer was born in 1949, which would have made him prime draft age for Vietnam, and yet there is no record of any military service in his biography.
Lots of chickenhawks trying to act like war heroes here.
I won’t even bother talking about the German surname.
zombie rotten mcdonald
of course he picks a female Park Ranger to bully.
What a dick.
I think this explains how the sex worker business booms wherever R’s congregate.
Because Democrats will sleep with each other, but Republicans have to pay.
Rachel Maddow had a photo lineup of the intrasigent Congressionals that have put us in this place.
White, doughy, grinning imbeciles who I’m sure still refer to their father as “mah daddy,” who refuse to believe they are getting chubby and their collars are too tight and increases the jowls they show. The kind who paws the female employees and laughs if they get upset, “Ah was jest bein’ friendly. We all want to be friends here.”
They never get their own beer during “the football.” That’s what women are for.
I realize now I’m having a bit of a flashback. I’ll take some aspirin and think happy thoughts.
@Hill Dweller: If Wolf Blitzer’s tattered credibility ends up being collateral damage of the shutdown, well at least some good would come of it.
But… Neugebauer has such a BIG flag on his jacket. He can’t possibly be wrong about anything.
So how do they explain the fact that every single National Park is closed?
Guessing it was an aide. Who realized they weren’t in Fox News channel world, but among people who knew the score.
Bully and flee. For the cameras.
What a congresscritter.
“These guys could fuck up a ham sandwich” — David Mamet
Wish he’d been mobbed by the tourists but I doubt they are well enough informed. Frankly I think furloughed workers should be staking out and leafleting at all the public memorials in DC to inform the tourists just who is responsible and prevent the asshole republicans from having any photo ops.

In related news, this is awesome. Money quote:
Obama dark. Reagan light. Whoodathunkit?
By the way, the Republicans have given the media enough ammo in the last 24/48 hours that any of the major networks could do an absolutely devastating piece using nothing but their own words.
Just tried to e-mail and call Rep. Neugebauer to communicate my sentiments on his bullying, a-holish ways… office closed, mailbox full, and will not accept emails from zip codes outside of the district he represents… imagine that?
@The Red Pen: That’s a joke, right? Please?
I used to live in Lubbock, Neugebauer’s home district, and I know he wants to imagine that he can become a Teabag Hero. But honestly, I don’t think he really has it in him. He’s not all that well-liked, even in Lubbock, where everyone has him pegged as a Crooked Businessman Fellator first and everything else dead last.
Plus, he comes across as desperately needy. That flag in his jacket pocket is just too much — it makes him look like a dork, because no one wears a flag that way. He’s overcompensating because he wants Teabag Luv, and he knows he’ll never get it. He does okay with the bullying when he’s yelling at a woman who’s required as part of her job to treat Congressman nicely and not, say, kick their balls up into their esophagus. But he runs like a coward when people start pushing back. He’s a coward, and it shows.
Teabag Heroes have to be assholes because that’s just Who They Are, not Who They Really, Really Wish They Could Be.
Shots fired on Capitol Hill. No joke. They’re on lockdown.
The Red Pen
@MattF: I double-checked and this appears to be a real news story about a real poll.
Twitter tells me that shots fired at Capitol.
““Let’s take this somewhere else.” Was that Randy, or one of his entourage saying that?”

Apparently, someone has shot the House Republican Caucus in the foot, and they’re claiming is was Obama.
Seriously, though, I can’t find any linkies on this. Any help?
Notice 2 things in this video:
1. Congressman Texas toughguy finds a female park ranger to scold.
2. When confronted by a man on a bicycle who sticks up for the ranger, he turns his back and walks away.
“Obama dark. Reagan light. Whoodathunkit?”
So if we just change the name, that’ll make them reopen the government?
@The Red Pen: I’ve seen breaking news banners on WaPo, MSNBC, C-SPAN, etc.
@Narcissus: more than likely some deranged gun nut/teabagger who insists that the government be shut down until he can buy more guns (didn’t say it had to make sense)
The sonafabitch needs a hard right cross to his yap after that.
@The Red Pen: No, it’s a joke. Note that the source is ‘The Daily Currant’ (as opposed to the Daily Current, which I think is a real thing).
If he’d stayed much longer, bicycle guy might have given him one.
@TooManyJens: Let me guess: John Boehner’s up on the dome with a rifle, right?
Jesus Christ. I knew it would happen at some point.
House employee says police now have the shooter. An officer (who probably isn’t getting paid right now) was injured.
The Snarxist Formerly Known as Kryptik
@The Red Pen:
Source links to the Daily Currant, which is a satire blog. The site linked is legit I think, just duped.
Mistermix, do you know for a fact that the Park Policewoman is not currently getting a check? I would think she’d fall under ‘necessary services’, but I don’t know that.
@Hill Dweller: If it gets to the point that Wolf Blitzer gets to take credit for saving the Republic, I’m moving to Canada.
And no. Even during the lowest darkest days of the Bush presidency, I never thought of moving away.
@Cacti: I am a National Park Volunteer. I would have been happy to do it myself.
@Scott S.: I used to live in Lubbock, Neugebauer’s home district, and I know he wants to imagine that he can become a Teabag Hero. But honestly, I don’t think he really has it in him. He’s not all that well-liked, even in Lubbock, where everyone has him pegged as a Crooked Businessman Fellator first and everything else dead last.
Agreed. DeLay gerrymandered the district just from him. He didn’t even get Amarillo.
These real estate dudes (along with the oil company execs) are pretty much all bullshit and chutzpah.

Guardian’s liveblog mentions Capitol shooting, one injury: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/03/government-shutdown-third-day-live#block-524db7fce4b0b103eb47f38b
Yeah, that’s a prime Texas Repug asshole. Not sure who’s worse, him or that Culberson “9/11 let’s roll” guy.
OT: as I remember, mistermix, you’re knowledgeable about upper mid/west politics, what do you think of this news out of Montana: Montana Democrats get Senate candidate. Sounds okay to me, especially given current events.
@shelly: changing the name is what I was proposing a couple of threads back, I mean, didn’t the dems see that naming it Obamacare would be inflammatory? Never thought of naming it Reagancare, that’s a good idea.
@The Red Pen: Also, too:
Whoa whoa whoa….just what kind of sick foot fetish pr0n is Blitzer doing now?
The gunman is “active” and has not yet been apprehended.
Shots fired at DC capital. NRA is on the scene to see how best to exploit this
@Eric U.: The Dems named it the Affordable Care Act. Republicans came up with the name “Obamacare” to be inflammatory.
After all the assholishness things I’ve seen regarding the shutdown, for some reason, this pisses me off more than anything. Goddamn that fucking Texas turd.
These people are just complete pieces of shit.
@TG Chicago: She’s working for an IOU right now, just like I am. We don’t get paid until the shutdown ends.
@The Red Pen: “unemployed civil war reenactment specialist from Huntsville, Alabama”
White Aryan Militia member, too?
#1 — he’s unemployed, so no work = no eat, right? That’s what their bumper stickers say
#2 — people can be professional Civil War reenactment actors? That’s a full time job?
Neugebauer owes this woman an apology. And then he can apologize to the rest of the country.
@TG Chicago: Okay, in regard to the shooting, I’m hearing that Capitol Police aren’t getting paid today, so I guess that’s surely true for Park Police, too. Odd that Capitol Police aren’t considered necessary…
Apparently, Capitol police who are responding to this gunfire are also working without pay. Nice optics for Boner.

Poe’s Law at work.
No, it’s a fake story in a satire magazine.
@Punchy: This makes me nostalgic for the Elvis impersonator who was wrongly accused of sending Ricin to the President.
It may be a little early to say, but I’m going to predict that guns have nothing to do with this incident.
God damn, this has been a weird year.
@Napoleon: because Obama and Obamacare.
So nra’s monster now at their sponsors’ doors?
Jimmy Kimmel allegedly had a field day with this.
Man on the street interviews with people aghast at “Obamacare” but happy there’s an “Affordable Care Act.” One woman, who does not know the difference, agrees it’s important to have well-informed American voters.
Yeah, so true. Know someone who went there during free admission weekend a week or two ago and had zero problem getting his choice of backcountry permits because there was hardly anybody there.
To top the cake, it was Yosemite’s 123rd birthday on Tuesday.
I’d suggest that Neugebauer go back to Germany where his illegal immigrant grandparents came from. He’s the descendant of carpet baggers and anchor babies.
Breaking: four shots fired on Capitol Hill. Lockdown
@John O: By nothing, I assume you mean except for the bullets ripping into flesh bit.
@TG Chicago: satire is dead, dead I say
@beltane: I thought it was the elvis impersonator? Or is that the one turned out to be the wife? Keep getting these incidents mixed up. Is ricin one of those things that you can buy from the Wingnut company store?
Oh, and this happened:
That would be Representative Tim Griffin of the Arkansas 2nd District.
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Thursday that one person was injured in a shooting on Capitol Hill, CNN’s Dana Bash reports.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has dispatched units to the Capitol, following reports of shots fired near Garfield Circle, which is on the west front of the Capitol Building.
An order was given over the Capitol speaker system to shelter in place because of an active shooter situation.
@kednedub: I left him a message at his Lubbock office. Inquired as to whether he wasn’t answering the phone because he’s too busy hiding under his desk so he can avoid apologizing for abusing a public servant who’s actually doing their job.
@Eric U.: The Elvis impersonators former associate (also crazy) tried to frame him by sending the ricin letters in his name. If nothing else, the USA is truly the superpower of teh crazy.
Holy shit. Now hearing the shooter tries to ram a gate at the White House and then fled to capitol Hill. Unclear who fired shots.

I keep saying – Republicans always blame the people out of power – the workers, minorities, the poor. No better illustration than this.

@Davis X. Machina:
Bad link. Here
Has Alex Jones reported the shooter has ties to the Weather Underground? Or is this another false flag operation to divert attention away from how Obummer is losing the Obummercare debate? Or is this an inside job designed to aid in getting guns banned? Some much potential….
Ive already read in various comment sections that such a gunfight couldnt happen in DC, since DC is a gun-free zone. The assholes are always the first to comment on gun articles. Must be sitting in Gradmas basement refreshing their 286’s to be on top of things.
Randy’s getting paid.
Preferably using the traditional Japanese method of apology.
An attempt to ran the White House gates ended with shots fired. Female suspect fled to Capitol Hill, more shots were fired and the suspect was killed.
turtlesfalse bottoms all the way down.
And someone I work with just got an e-mail from his mom who is in one of the offices in lockdown (she was visiting).
and the first one we have to hear from is Luke Russert?

A Republican Congressman from West Texas who’s a coward and a bully. No way!
I bet there aren’t more than five Republican Congressmen who visited the WWII Memorial prior to this week.
Probably not many Democratic Congressmen did either, but they have the sense not to be assholes in this manner.
