    Interesting lineup for the US. Garza gets the start at left back. Tim Ream next to Gonzalez in central defense. Altidore and Johannsson together up front, with Dempsey tucked in behind.

    Don’t think I’ve seen Garza play before, but it’s good to see a defender with what appears to be some solid upper body strength.

    Altidore did something that drives me crazy about him: he gets a beautiful pass sent his way, no one is within ten meters of him and no one from Haiti is coming out to challenge him. His first impulse send a long, looping cross into the box, where there are two US players and five Haitian players. The Haitians clear it easily. There was plenty of time for him to dribble in closer and draw some of the Haitians away. The guy has some great skills, but not a creative bone in his body,

    @raven:

    Probably the repeated, horrid giveaways by the U.S. midfield, especially Diskerud, who has been awful so far.

    @raven:I’m going to guess that he’s pissed that his defenders are not closing down the attackers and giving them far too many unobstructed chances on goal.

    Not much degree of difficulty on that dive, but it was beautifully done.

    Pretty impressed by Haiti’s ability to counter, but if the US gets a first goal it could really unravel for Haiti

    @Randinho:

    Zardes has really benefited from being mentored by Robbie Keane. Now with both Keane and Gerrard whispering sweet nothings in his ear, his learning curve could get really steep.
