No. Bursts of falling coconuts are far too innovative to rush untimly out of the world, especially on a day like today. Run with it. I’m readjusting today so that there were drifting coconut flakes outside all day.

Once the hail stops, have him go out and collect a bowl of hail, and put it in the freezer. That’s what we did with the freak hail storm last August. WarriorGirl must have spent a week examining that (in one minute increments to keep it from melting).

My PCP and I talked about it; I do once a week on the exercycle (I like biking), once a week swimming with WarriorGirl, and (just added) to start, once a month on the rowing machine. I used to take a group weight-training class where the instructor would say encouraging things to us and then answer back in a cartoon voice. It was pretty entertaining. That same place had a yoga instructor who was a former Army drill instructor, and he never quite lost that rasp. I always expected him to snap someday and say, “Drop and give me downward dog, maggots!”
As debit said, the trick is to find something you actually like to do, or at least are interested in learning. If you’ve ever aspired to learn how to do ballet or swing dance, that counts as exercise, too. I haven’t been using it lately, but I love my 3-speed Dutch bike that I can use to do errands around the neighborhood, or even visit bookstores with resident cats.

I’m sure one or two of them have had green cards or long-stay immigrant visas at some point, and once you’re a US resident then you’re subject to the embargo. @Anya: They just did.
Patricia Kayden
@Anya: No. So do I. The GOP need to own their bigotry which has culminated in Trump’s ascendancy. Great night for progressives.
Ultraviolet Thunder
It’s been snowing in Detroit and I was looking forward to a promised work assignment on the road.
Just got it: Nebraska. And I spent the last weekend in Ontario.
I really hate winter up here in the north.

@Baud: Given the number of expats who frequent Balloon Juice, I’d say you’ll take Americans Abroad.

so far 538.com is 8 for 8 in projecting Democratic Party outcomes for Super Tuesday
no bad.

@Anya: NBC has called OK for Bernie.

@Elie:
Really?
I moved to WA from AZ just over a year ago, so I’ll be a first time caucus participant (in WA or anywhere else).
How does it work?

@Baud:
You are correct.

Kasich stole VA from Rubio and have it to Trump.
A vote for Kasich is a vote for Trump.
But anti trump vote looking good tonight, if not anti trump candidates!

“Critics have wondered- is Rubio viable considering he hasn’t won a single state?”
That’s an actual quote. Those nitpicking critics.
PsiFighter37
CNN is making fun of Rubio not winning any states but still declaring victory.
If Rubio drops out, who will the establishment support? They absolutely loathe Cruz, maybe even moreso than Trump.
Baud
@Kay:
I have yet to win a state. So maybe there is hope for my viability.

@Ready:
How long do we have to wait for your boy Jeb to invoke “Hammer Time” and destroy Trump? You’ve been promising it for months now.

@Mike J:
Massachusetts Republicans are totally crazy for Trump.
I’ve also heard of a fair number of nominal Democrats/Democratic-voting independents crossing over to vote for anybody but Trump, because they don’t give a crap about either Clinton or Sanders but just hate Trump. But I don’t think they’re coordinating who they’re voting for (sorry, Peter Beinart).

Iowa- more interesting than Nebraska, better weather than Minnesota.

The Guardian’s primary map has adorable cartoon figures.

@Baud:
Why does he get such special treatment? It’s crazy. OTOH I wanted him to win, because he’s not very smart.
Anya
@Kay:Hugh Hewitt is such a weasel. He was on Don Lemon last night and he said he was dissapointed in Trump because he should’ve said “KKK is an evil organization.” To me, he sounded like he was saying, “why couldn’t he say what the people want to hear?” Of course he transitioned to attacking Hillary.
ETA: I seriously dislike Van Jones. When did he become such a hack?
Mike J
@Cacti:
In ’08, the whole LD met in a middle school gym. We broke out by precincts, each had several tables pushed together.
In out precinct, we went around and introduced ourselves, and then we let people speak in favor of their candidate, alternating several times. No set limit, but everybody felt like they got all their points in for each side. We took a vote, and the coördinator told us how many delegates each side got to choose for the county convention.

New post up top, for lulz.

I am surprised that MassholesForTrump.com is apparently unregistered.
Elie
@Cacti:
You have to get good volunteers to help you run each caucus site (by precinct). You have to record all the attendees, track their first and final vote and do the arithmetic around calculating how many reps are sent to the next round to determine which candidate actually ends up with the WA delegates at the Convention…. We are trying to scare up about 5-6 volunteers to manage the administrative functions at the caucus sites. Not easy. Lots of people want to attend the caucuses but not too many want to actually work to help them go well..
David ?Canadian Anchor Baby? Koch
@Baud: red states with high white populations have been trained not to like Hillary. For example, Obama won Idaho 80-17 and Kansas 74-26 in 2008. Was Obama that good – no. He benefited from the spoon fed anybody but clinton vote in those type of states.

Cruz seems to be taking Texas AND Oklahoma!

Maybe, like the wee Mayhew, someone is telling little Marco that it’s raining coconuts and he won all he primaries
Kay
@Anya:
It’s not nice but I’m completely enjoying their anguish over the GOP crack-up.
David ?Canadian Anchor Baby? Koch
@Baud: That’s okay. As long as you pile up delegates you can have a major say in the virtual platform and you can become the virtual keynote speaker. You can blow them away with a Cuomo/Obama like speech.
Iowa Old Lady
@Kay: That is hilarious. I swear these people believe that if they just wish hard enough, their pain will end.

You with King Co Dems? I’ll volunteer, who should I email?
Ohio Mom
@Anya: Good for your mom, really. But I can’t stand zumba-type music, hated palates, yoga was merely meh. I’m telling you, I’ve given exercise a fair trial.I wish I liked it but I can’t imagine I ever will.
Anya
@Kay: Oh, I am enjoying too. Before Trump’s refusal to denounce KKK, Hugh Hewitt would’ve ignored the issue and went on spreading lies about POTUS and attacking Hillary with RWNJ issues. I loved how this discombobulated him.
FlipYrWhig
@different-church-lady: Yeah, OK, far fetched, but not inconceivable.

Wonder how many Cream-puffs Trump had to give Chris Christie to get this sort of service.
Have you *ever* seen a politician so quickly debase themselves? It’s stunning.

When I turn on my TV, it’s just Nicole Wallace babbling like an idiot and interrupting Eugene Robinson. Then again, I portably would’ve flipped off a Trump appearance

Trump is delusional. But surprisingly he’s trying to be conciliatory.

She’s finding the message. She’s going to get better and better with it too. She’s no Obama (no one is or will ever be that guy), but he’s going to have her back going into the general. The visuals of the two of them together will be great. They’ve got this.

@Libby’s Person: It’s supposed to snow on Friday, and then be clear on Saturday and Sunday. Morning lows in the 20s, afternoon highs in the 40s.
The snow is listed as <1"; no guarantee that it will snow at all. Check WeatherUnderground* on Thursday night, by which time the model will have firmed up.
* The Website, not the TV show. Which I like, but doesn't really do much for giving regional forecasts unless it's about blizzards, tornadoes and hurrcanes.

@Ohio Mom: Jack LaLanne hated exercise, also too:
He was amazing. I read somewhere that, IIRC, he would get up at 3-4 AM to start his morning exercise routine.
Cheers,
