    Missing the Olympics. I’m doing volunteer photography for a support organization for people who’ve lost loved ones in the military. It’s a good cause, and I’m glad I have a skill I can contribute — but damn, how many times can you photograph the same 50 kids in the same three hotel conference rooms?

    Getting lots of badly-needed practice with my flash, anyway. My god, hotel lighting sucks.

    My new ‘diet’ seems to be paying dividends with a reduction of 30+ pts in my cholesterol… 1st time under 200 in years. I replace a meal with a meatless substitute. Huge!

    I’ve watched enough sports to have seen results that seem far too good to be true (stand up and take a bow, Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis, who, while never testing positive, was clearly juiced); already, there are whispers about that Women’s 10K yesterday (although, if that Woman was doping, she sure didn’t put on any weight). I mean, seriously, 14 seconds on a WR that was suspect in it’s own right? Bizarre.

    Ledecky’s margins of victory are often a little … unusual … is all I’m saying…
