Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Republicans: “Abortion is murder but you can take a bus to get one.” Easy peasy.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

The only way through is to slog through the muck one step at at time.

Come on, man.

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

Fundamental belief of white supremacy: white people are presumed innocent, minorities are presumed guilty.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

Let the trolls come, and then ignore them. that’s the worst thing you can do to a troll.

Mediocre white men think RFK Jr’s pathetic midlife crisis is inspirational. The bar is set so low for them, it’s subterranean.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Come on, media. you have one job. start doing it.

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

No Kings: Americans standing in the way of bad history saying “Oh, Fuck No!”

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Republicans: The threats are dire, but my tickets are non-refundable!

Quote tweet friends, screenshot enemies.

Human rights are not a matter of opinion!

“In this country American means white. everybody else has to hyphenate.”

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

Wait? What?

Well Adam L. Silverman, seems not all the crazies are in Florida. I don’t even know where to go with this one.

Open thread.

And you know, this is obligatory.

    Ooh, this could be interesting.

Last month, lawyers representing former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos, one of the women who has accused President Trump of sexual misconduct, served the Trump campaign with a subpoena asking it to preserve any documents that it had pertaining to her and any other women who have made similar allegations against Trump.

Buzzfeed News reported the filing on Sunday, noting that is related to a defamation suit that Zervos filed against Trump in January after he responded to her and other’s assault allegations by denying the charges and calling the women liars. In a press conference last October, Zervos claimed that Trump had groped and kissed her at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2007 after she had gone to meet with him about the possibility of taking a job with the Trump Organization.

A short time later police received a call from an employee at O’Reilly Auto Parts,… who said that someone had jammed a British Fantasy Series Metal Beaded Flogger into the business’s breaker box, knocking out power to the business. Longmont Power & Communications responded to O’Reilly’s and removed the whip.

@trollhattan: Hopefully it will be more than just watching him squirm. It would be quite ironic if Trump was sued for sexual harassment while in office because Republicans went after President Clinton in the 90s and got a court to determine that a sitting President can be dragged into court. Ha!

Eh, If it happens, the Repubs will simply take it to the SC again and THIS time Justice Roberts et al. will decide that the first decision was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG (unless it comes up against another Democratic President) and will say the case must be held in abeyance or outright dismissed. I have zero faith in our Supreme Court.
