It looks like Maine will start the process to expand Medicaid.
With 52% reporting, Maine is leaning TOWARDS expanding Medicaid under Obamacare pic.twitter.com/1yZU7jI2Li

The implementation mechanics will be challenging. I would not expect the first enrollees until sometime in the late summer or early fall for an aggressive implementation. Louisiana had 6 months to ramp up. But this helps a lot of people.

Another huge Obamacare giveaway to the insurance companies.

Happy for Maine. They kind of messed up for a while there, but so did America last year. Time to move forward again.

So happy about this. What most people don’t realize is that Maine has expanded Medicaid to 140% FPL (including people without dependents) long before the ACA. Technically it wasn’t that LePage refused to expand Medicaid, the GOP actually contracted Medicaid. They took health care access away from about 90,000 Mainers.

Also hoping this can make a dent in the addiction issues in Maine.

YAY!! Thanks Obama.

As I recall, even the Maine legislature passed expansion, but LePage vetoed it. The people really had to go around him.

Yeah ?? for my fellow citizens of Maine.

57-42 is “leaning?” I’d say it pretty much flattened the opposition….

LaPage issued a statement today saying that he still won’t do it.

@bystander: Probably not considering that ‘No’ stripe runs right through the worst parts.
Also LePetomaine has already announced he’s simply not going to implement what the voters did. They need to get rid of him before anything can happen.
