    @Aleta: Someone in the previous thread said that the threshold was 0.5%. It’s at about 0.8% right now, and the tea-leaf-readers expect Jones’ lead to grow a bit more with the last bunch of precincts. So probably no auto-recount.

    @dmsilev: To be honest, McConnell’s probably sighing in relief. I think he’d rather have Jones in the Senate than Moore. No Republicans wanted to have to go on record voting for or against any of the crazy amendments Moore was likely to put up on every piece of legislation.

    I suppose he could request a recount, but AL only requires that within a 0.5% margin.

    I wonder how this result will impact the tax bill. Hopefully there will be a lot more Republican Congressfolk looking at it a little more skeptically tomorrow.
