Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

Whatever happens next week, the fight doesn’t end.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

If you are still in the GOP, you are an extremist.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Despite his magical powers, I don’t think Trump is thinking this through, to be honest.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

This fight is for everything.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

A Senator Walker would also be an insult to reason, rationality, and decency.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

rich, arrogant assholes who equate luck with genius

Republicans do not pay their debts.

Republicans in disarray!

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

The republican caucus is already covering themselves with something, and it’s not glory.

We still have time to mess this up!

Tick tock motherfuckers!

All your base are belong to Tunch.

Their freedom requires your slavery.

The race for PA-18 has gotten very close (Trump won by nearly 20 points).

New public polling in PA-18 special election: 3 point lead to the GOP, but 21% (!) still undecided. Margin of error is +/- 5%. https://t.co/UVMFY7w3l8 pic.twitter.com/Ev1jLfGCjv

Dems have a great candidate, Conor Lamb. If he wins, expect more GOP retirements. This one is a longshot but it’s big, and it may be winnable. Predictions are hard, especially about the future. I just upped the goal to $7500.

I did see that the GOP was freaked enough to want Trump to go campaign for the Repub for this seat. It seems worth investing on from our side.

I have a pretty good track record for predictions about the past. The future, not so much.

    @Raoul:

I always wonder if it helps when he campaigns for someone.

I don’t love Lamb as a candidate, to be honest. He’s said that he’s not willing to support Pelosi, and he’s pro-life, and I’m suspicious of anybody who comes from a big political family.

That said, he’s literally running against a guy who consulted on torture techniques at Abu Ghraib, so even with my reservations, the choice is pretty clear.
