Major Major Major Major‘s spontaneous San Francisco meet-up will convene at 3:30, local time, at the Thirsty Bear.
The LA meet-up that travelling commentor LAMH requested will collect, starting at 6pm local time, at the Grand Central Market‘s “large seating area on the Hill side of the building”.
As a precaution, check back to the original posts, linked above, for any further updates.

Attendees should take and send me photos. Obviously, the rest of us jackals will judge which city had the best meet-up by the quality of those pics! (/snark)

Here’s a topic to kick around: Howard Dean just stated on MSNBCthat contrary to his bravado, Donald Trump was NOT a good businessman, and did not have the respect of the financial community in NY or anywhere else. Dean said it in plain English, too.
A topic for conversation: why on earth didn’t Hillary make that fact as plain, and then hammer it home during her campaign?
Villago Delenda Est
Well, the best city is obviously Waco, Texas.
WaterGirl
@No Drought No More: Um, he’s male, he’s not running for office, the election is over, he’s not Hillary Clinton. I’m sure there are many more reasons why it’s okay to say it now. For all I know, Hillary did say that during the campaign and nobody paid any attention.
Chyron HR
@No Drought No More:
Here’s a topic to kick around: She totally did and you people complained that she was “running against Trump” instead of “addressing economic anxiety”.
FlyingToaster
@No Drought No More: She did, but nobody would report on it, because Emails! Benghazi!
Brachiator
@No Drought No More:
She probably tried to make the point, and was ignored.
I don’t know whether any of the GOP contenders in the primary tried to drive this point home. In any event, Trump was able to play on his image successfully. Nobody cared about the reality.
Mnemosyne
For LA jackals, the Grand Central Market has a really good website with tons of information about parking and public transit. I’ve never been there, so I’m looking forward to it.
Who’s bringing the green balloons?
Villago Delenda Est
@No Drought No More: Because the MSM would have attacked her for being “negative” instead of “positive”, which indicates that they didn’t bother reading her web site and see all the “positive” shit therein.
BruceFromOhio
Still want to meet Steve ATL’s aunt in Carmel by sea.
On station in a chain joint in the ‘burgh waiting for MrsFromOhio to complete an Ikea recon run. Too long a ride to make SF or LA, so sorry. Have fun, jackals.
Mnemosyne
@No Drought No More:
Here, let me Google that for you, you lazy-ass motherfucker.
You’re welcome, dumbass.
Mnemosyne
@WaterGirl:
@Chyron HR:
@FlyingToaster:
et al.
I realize you guys are exasperated as I am that this dumbass asks the same easily answered questions over and over and over again. I still don’t get why it’s Hillary’s fault that he decided to tune out every time she started talking, but the schtick is getting pretty old.

July, 2016
Wow, that took almost two minutes of googling! Ever hear the thing about horses and water? or was the English not plain enough?
Jim, Foolish Literalist
Oh, fuck, referring to trump’s brief fling, and failure, in ‘business’ in AC put me in moderation for the dumbass
Yutsano
@No Drought No More: You know, shitting all over a thread with pointless HRC bashing is poor form chap.
Van Buren
It’s hard to take someone seriously as an expert on just who is and who isn’t a business success when they don’t even follow email protocol themselves.
Your liberal media, 2016
Jim, Foolish Literalist
@Yutsano: the cult of Dean has shrunk, but it remains strong.
There’s a mustard seed reference to be made to tie this in with all the god talk below
Mnemosyne
@Van Buren:
Wasn’t there a word cloud published after the election that was “Emails” in 100 point type and everything else said about her in, like, 8 point type?
Roger Moore
@Mnemosyne:
I will try to bring some. It seems to be my traditional role at the meetup.
Mnemosyne
@Roger Moore:
Thank you! I am still easy to spot on the crutches, unfortunately.
BruceFromOhio
@Mnemosyne: outstanding.
opiejeanne
I wish we could be at either meet-up, or both.
Major Major Major Major
I’m gonna try to pick up some green balloons, emailing with Steve to show up a little early and find a spot. Will post details here and the dedicated thread full of LA trolls.
Ruckus
@Mnemosyne:
I’ll plan on getting there just a bit early and scout around for a table(s).
Ruckus
@Major Major Major Major:
Payback can be a bitch.
Major Major Major Major
@Ruckus: at least it isn’t this thread.
Ben Cisco (onboard the Defiant)
@No Drought No More: When it comes to pie, I’m partial to Key Lime. How about you?
Yutsano
@opiejeanne: You know, if the bullet train between LA & Sf was done it might have worked…
Will you folks still be around March 24-27? I’ll be back again.
randal m sexton
I am mostly a lurker at this joint, but I will happen to be in the neighborhood of the Thirsty Bear today — See you there :)

@Yutsano: Maybe, we haven’t figured out when we’re heading to the cabin yet but we may need to be here for taxes and some medical nonsense.
MisterForkbeard
@Major Major Major Major: Awesome. I’m leaving the north bay around 2pm, so I’ll probably get there a little early (assuming I can find parking).
Ruckus
@MisterForkbeard:
Where in north bay? Lived in Novato for 6 yrs.
Origuy
I’ll be a little late. Just got home. Have to shower. About an hour away.
Steve in the ATL
@MisterForkbeard: bring friends if you can—it’s critical that SF wins the meet up duel!
WaterGirl
@randal m sexton: Yay for lurkers attending!
@Steve in the ATL: You guys are funny!
Mnemosyne
@Steve in the ATL:
Ha! We have more regulars! We shall crush you!
/evil laugh
Steve in the ATL
@Mnemosyne: last LA meet up was two people, so you guys have a lot make up for!
Mnemosyne
@Steve in the ATL:
The last SF meetup was just me and Major^4, so …
Steve in the ATL
@Mnemosyne: two-ché
?BillinGlendaleCA
Quality of the pictures? Bring it NorCal snobs.
?BillinGlendaleCA
@Steve in the ATL: That is only because you only invited Ruckus.
Major Major Major Major
@Mnemosyne: that wasn’t a proper meetup though, I don’t think you’re supposed to arrange them via personal email like that.
Steve in the ATL
@Major Major Major Major: major x4 and I here. Where are the rest of you clown-loving jackals?
Aleta
There should be more than one prize category to prevent serious injuries.
MisterForkbeard
I’m here (along with Rand) and we’re trying to find you guys.
Major Major Major Major
@MisterForkbeard: out front bein awkward! I am 6’4”, come get us.
Mnemosyne
@Major Major Major Major:
Technicalities. ? You’re never going to survive this rumble.
Caphilldcne
Go Jackals! The last meeting IAMH attended in DC brought me out and I got to see the Trump hotel hit by lightning (which in all honesty scared the bejeesus outta me)! So per American God’s I think IAMH is a lightning goddess and may your two cities zap some naughty Rs with her power!
Caphilldcne
PS by zap I’m talkin cattle prod level (not any terrible wishes in poor taste as I am classy that way)
PPS I’m asittin’ in Birmingham AL waiting for a delayed flight back to DC and dang if this Snake Handler Double IPA from Birmingham Brewhouse isn’t amazingly good should anyone get to Birmingham.
Mnemosyne
@Caphilldcne:
Curbed tells me that there are two Trump properties in LA, a house in Beverly Hills and a golf course in Palos Verdes. We’ll let lamh decide which one she wants to strike first. ?
HinTN
@Steve in the ATL: Just got home from seeing The Shape of Water. Sadly, for meet-up purposes, that was in Chattanooga so no being there with your today. Supporting the SF meet-up in spirit.
HinTN
@Caphilldcne: Passing through tomorrow so will glance about for it. Still hoping for a nibble on a Niceville (or Fort Walton Beach / Destin) meet-up Tuesday evening but not holding my breath.
Fair Economist
I’m a-wagerin’ us Southerners have us a better foto-graffer (BillinGlendale does great stuff!)
Mnemosyne
Roger grabbed a table by the Golden Road kiosk, if you don’t immediately see the green balloons.
MomSense
@Mnemosyne:
Word.
MomSense
@Jim, Foolish Literalist:
It’s almost like some people couldn’t hear what a woman was saying.
Mnemosyne
For the LA meet up, we ended up next to the Golden Road kiosk inside the market, so come look for the green balloons.
MisterForkbeard
Just wanted to leave a quick checkin, but the SF meetup was fantastic. We had something like 12 or 13 people show up, and they were all pretty awesome. Well, except for me anyway. I’m a pretty boring dude :)
Steve in the ATL
@Fair Economist: you may have better photos but we had over 100 people at our meet up.
Full disclosure: I had two California Coolers and may be too wasted to count accurately.
MisterForkbeard
@Steve in the ATL: I think it’s pretty clear that each SF attendee counts for like 10 people anyway.
Rand Careaga
San Francisco pictures have been sent. If the tenor of the event is to deduced from the image quality, it might be assumed that we gathered in Abu Ghraib, but in fact everyone had a jolly time. BillinGlendaleCA probably need not look to his laurels.
Steve in the ATL
@Rand Careaga: I’ll be shocked if my eyes weren’t closed in all the photos. It’s my thing.
?BillinGlendaleCA
As I told our SoCal(and lamh), I saw one our cousin’s on the way down the hill from my photoshoot; a coyote.
?BillinGlendaleCA
@Steve in the ATL: Conserve your visual strength Steve, you need it to stare down the Union Thugs.
Steve in the ATL
@?BillinGlendaleCA: good point. Back at the table in the morning!
frosty
You jackals are a hoot. Hope to meet up with you someday IRL.

@Steve in the ATL:
