Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

So many bastards, so little time.

“In the future, this lab will be a museum. do not touch it.”

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

When you’re in more danger from the IDF than from Russian shelling, that’s really bad.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

Radicalized white males who support Trump are pitching a tent in the abyss.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

The fundamental promise of conservatism all over the world is a return to an idealized past that never existed.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

Human rights are not a matter of opinion!

Consistently wrong since 2002

She burned that motherfucker down, and I am so here for it. Thank you, Caroline Kennedy.

Disagreements are healthy; personal attacks are not.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Dumb motherfuckers cannot understand a consequence that most 4 year olds have fully sorted out.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

Submit Your Photos

On The Road and In Your Backyard is a weekday feature spotlighting reader submissions. From the exotic to the familiar, please share your part of the world, whether you’re traveling or just in your locality. Share some photos and a narrative, let us see through your pictures and words. We’re so lucky each and every day to see and appreciate the world around us!

Submissions from commenters are welcome at tools.balloon-juice.com

Folks, I’m working my way through backlogged submissions for the next couple of weeks, and we’re hitting the ground running today! Feel free to submit new stuff, and I may run some of it, but for at least a week or so, I’ve got some stuff to publish.

I sincerely hope each and every one of you is doing ok. Losing Schlemazel – so quickly! – was a shock and another reminder to hold your loved ones dear and overlook their faults or slights when you can, they’re precious. Hold his family, friends, and loved ones in mind and heart.

I tried to get the order right for these; they were from earlier in the tool and so may still be bugged. All new submissions will be correct, but these older ones may not. If I made an error, I apologize and if I’m around, I’ll fix it.

Today, pictures from valued commenter wmd.

I’m on a sabbatical and doing some scuba diving in one of the best sites in the world in terms of diversity of coral species. Dive pictures will wait until I’m stateside again in about 15 days.

Posting some sunset pictures.

I love this. It was so different. And I want that New Year’s Day meal. Great way to celebrate.

I would love to see more pictures of the boat. What kind of accommodations, for a 9-day voyage?

    Thanks, wmd!

Late to the party, but this cements my goal of doing this dive trip next year for the New Year! We’ve been talking about it for the last three weeks.
