I received a request this evening, hopefully some of our Colorado jackals can offer a recommendation.

I do not yet know enough people here for reliable pet networking. My cat Elby came home from the hospital yesterday, and a family member in CA went into hospice today. I am in desperate need of a reliable cat-sitter at either their home or mine, and TaMara kindly offered to post this. I was wondering if our Denver area people have any recommendations you would be willing to share or refer to me? I’m in the SE corner of Lowry. Elby does need oral medication twice a day, but he is very easy-going and easy to medicate. I’m checking with my vet for referrals, and Nextdoor was also recommended.

    I hope Elby finds a reliable person or two to help out. I would think people at the Vet’s office or at the kitty hospital would know a few people who could provide such services.

    As a fallback, a friend of mine arranged services, long distance, when her brother went into the hospital, at The Cat Spa : http://www.catspakennel.com/

    It was quite reasonable, the cat survived, and.the people were, reportedly, very nice.

    Thanks everyone. I’ll keep checking back in the comments. I’m also looking into boarding him at the Overland hospital on the other side of town, if anyone has any experience with them that they can share.

    I’m on the opposite side of town and had a knee replacement 6 days ago so not very useful currently. I will keep good thoughts for you and your kitty.

    Thanks again everyone for all the advice, and Amy Shields for the offer! Today a friend’s mom kindly offered to take him in as long as needed, so he’ll be in good hands until I’m back in Denver.
